Why small sailing vessels need PredictWind

We made a sailing trip from Ireland to Spain a distance of 550 miles 3 1/2 days sailing a journey we have made many times in the past but this time was different, on board was my grandson, my son and my son-in-law and my self three generation of our family a cargo of irreplaceable value. My departing instructions don’t arrive without the cargo alive and well. To solve this problem we purchased an iridium go from PredictWind to run alongside their weather and wave high forecast program this meant they could track the boat and know the weather and sea condition we were enjoying. I have used Predictwind Offshore through the ‘Iridium Go’ for the last four years. Two transatlantics in that time which also included many ocean voyages in excees of 500 miles, well outside mobile range. The up to the minute weather charts across five models informed the initial general route and daily monitiring and adjustment where necessary. Predictwind kept me up to speed and out of trouble at all times. Predictwind is awesome. Thanks

This is a fantastic app but the features you really want are behind a paywall. Minimum contract being 1 month. It’s eye watering. Making it an app for the rich rather than one we would all sign up to as a matter of principle. The costs are so far ahead of other ones we all use and have no issue paying for! The Navigation apps are not cheap but appropriately priced. Very disappointed

This is a great app and probably worth the money. Very disappointed that the current gribs only go 2 days in advance. In all seriousness, what good is this. You can only route accurately for 2 days in advance. Apart from that the resolution of the current gribs is high. Seems to be no way to display wind for longer than a week.

have used this app for a few years Sailing in the Caribbean. I no longer have the boat and he app only allows auto renew, but I didn’t cancel it before the auto renew. Logged in through the website and tried to downgrade to free to cancel it, but it simply went lighter and didn’t seem to complete. Went to the app on my phone, and was able to delete my account. I received an email from customer service, refunding the renewal and explaining the auto-renewal, and handing my comments to development to see if they can improve. The app is good, but customer service exceptional, earning a 5 star rating.
