The only good thing about Preply are the tutors
They only want to make money. If I have to cancel a class, I have to use it within a month or I lose my money. I can’t even use the credit towards any subscribed future class.
Also, if I change the schedule, it starts from the day of and they charge you an extra class. So, let’s say on Monday at 11am, I decide to change the schedule for the future. I pick 5pm instead of 4pm. It schedules me for 5pm and also keeps 4pm. Now I’ve paid for 2 classes on the same day, even though I changed the schedule.
Most reliable and professional app
Most other apps for learning languages I found people spam you and ineffective. This app is the best! Making great progress with my Dutch lessons
There is no IDEAL payment method
I come from the netherlands,i don‘t want to pay with creditcard but with IDEAL and that option is not available

Don’t take lessons of women or men who can seduce you
If tutor decides not to continue you just loses your money
Based on the police Preply doesn’t conduct any refund if you purchased the subscription and used at least one lesson, and funds expired in some limited period.
So it the tutor was fine, you’ve booked subscription, visit 1-2 lessons, and then it’s just start skipping on you - oh well, your subscription will burn and all the money within. You can prolong 20 days, or move to another tutor, if lucky enough to find one, but that’s not 100%.

This company does automatic payment but does not provide any refund even if It is their fault or the tutor is not available.
Subscription is not flexible
Subscription is not flexible - you cannot move lessons to next month only 25% can move to next month or you lose them - also pauzing subscription is only for 20 days after next payment - also not flex for example i want to pauze feom 15 Dec till 15 Jan because of holidays and travels - you will have to cancel your subscription and start again which is very inefficient

Do not recomend
I am using it for almost 6 months and my experience is consistently bad. Monthly fee, with not transferable hours, ensures that you pay and you do not get equal amount of studying hours. Teachers are cancelling with reasons ‘I am tired’ 30 min in advance as this is commercially logical to do. Why to teach if you get paid anyway? Preply do not return your money, suggest transferring to other teachers that are difficult to find as you firstly need trial lesson to which most do not show up. I myself moved to Italky, as I am in control on what I pay v what I get there.
