Very helpful

Great everyday App

I’ve been using this app for more than 3 months now and so far it has not failed me. It is a good way of keeping oneself up to date to current events as long as long as you keep yourself open minded as to the possibility of biased editorials and fake news from the media outlets you are reading.

DOES NOT ALLOW FAMILY SHARING

We purchased a premium subscription based on the premise that it supports family sharing. When we downloaded the app for the rest of the family it asked for a separate payment. We messaged PressReader support thru the app and was advised that since it was purchased thru the App Store I had to contact Apple support. Upon contacting Apple Support and wasting two hours going thru all the hoops they asked me to do, they tell me in the end that the app does not support family sharing for the premium subscription. This is a blatant violation of the warranties set forth by both the developer and the Apple thru the App Store. 1. The developer claims that the app supports family sharing and when clicking the learn more portion it gives the standard Apple information on family sharing. THERE IS NO INDICATION THAT THE PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION IS NOT FAMILY SHARING ENABLED. 2. Upon paying for the premium subscription, THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THE PAYMENT IS FOR A SINGLE, NOT A FAMILY, SUBSCRIPTION. 3. Apple, thru AppStore, should be on the look out for these warranties, unless Apple is also in cahoots with the developer by keeping silent on the matter and making the customer complainant go thru the hoops for several hours just to say in the end that the app is not enabled for family sharing despite the claim on the front page of the app on the App Store that it supports family sharing. If you don’t have the time and energy to go thru the hoops you would just give up and I feel this is precisely what Apple and the developer wants you to do so they can defraud more customers thru click bait strategy. Apple can check at the onset if the app is enabled for family sharing or not. Why mislead the customer who is simply inquiring about the matter? If Apple or the app developer does not correct this it can very well be a lawsuit on consumer protection just waiting to happen. I hope this is a mere oversight on the part of Apple which can be quickly remedied by either compelling the developer to allow family sharing or remove the claim of “supports family sharing” on the App Store.

The best newspaper app so far

This is the best newspaper app for me so far. It has a wide array of newspaper choices, at least for the Philippines. But the reading features are buggy - I cannot save to my Instapaper account anymore, etc.
