It seems amazing that one can run an AI language model directly on one's own phone! This app allows you to do just that. The app itself is about 96 MB and any additional language models you download will also take up space, but perhaps not as much space as you might think for an AI that has encyclopedic knowledge. However there is a drawback to running these models on your own device. When you interact with an AI online which is actively maintained, you have the benefit of knowing a team of experts are constantly updating the model and software, ironing out bugs and generally keeping everything running smoothly. When you run an AI model on your own device, you don't have this advantage. So I see this app as a work in progress, and prone to various bugs and glitches. For example, often the default model will start repeating itself and will produce logical errors (I have not tested any other models yet). Also I have noticed that the model will start running extremely slow after just a few interactions. Plus, I wish there was a way to save your chat. Even the option of copying a specific reply doesn't seem to be working, which is a serious problem if you want the AI to write a reply to an email or something like that! I've had to take a screenshot of the AI's reply and copy the text from there in order to get it out. Hopefully these issues will be ironed out in a future update.
