## Private Pilot Checkride Description
Using a question-and-answer format, Private Pilot Checkride lists the questions most likely to be asked by examiners during the last step in the pilot certification process – the Practical Exam – and provides succinct, ready responses. Pilots will find this App an indispensable tool in both planning for what to expect during the airplane checkride and mastering the subject matter. Instructors rate them as excellent preparation for students, as well as preps for Flight Reviews, aircraft transitions, and as general refresher material.


This Private Pilot Checkride app is based on the popular Private Oral Exam Guide book by Jason Blair and aligns with the FAA Airman Certification Standards (ACS). It is designed for student pilots training for the Private Pilot Certificate with an airplane rating. More than 900 questions and responses ensure all the subjects a Private Pilot candidate will be tested on during a checkride and review flight are covered. Topics include: pilot qualifications and limitations, aircraft airworthiness requirements, preflight procedures, postflight procedures, human factors, performance and limitations, airport operations, national airspace system, weather information, cross-country flight planning, night operations, emergency equipment and survival gear, and scenario-based training. Answers and explanations were researched using FAA documents (which are identified so pilots know where to go for further study) as well as interviewing FAA examiners and include the corresponding ACS code. Questions can be marked for further study from any subject to build your own collection of flashcards. An Applicant Practical Test Checklist and quick-reference to the Private Pilot maneuvers and tolerances (as defined in the Airman Certification Standards) are also included.

Compatible with iOS phones and tablets, this app teaches applicants not only what to expect, but also how to exhibit subject mastery and confidence when under the examiner’s scrutiny. It identifies candidates’ strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in their aeronautical knowledge, which increases study efficiency.

This was helpful in getting my PPL. I studied using this app months in advance before the check ride. Explanations are ok but the majority of the time I found myself searching outside the app for information to augment understanding. 
When your at that point of not knowing what to study for, use this app because it is a good source of questions.

This is a straight port from the book to an app. 
While it's handy to have on my phone and hides the answers (flash card style), they could have spent more than 10 minutes importing the data into the app. 
For example, there is a question asking to "define the following" that has no data. Te book has it broken down this way too, but it makes sense in a book and not in the app. 
They could have randomized the questions too. It's EXACTLY the same order as the book.

This app has so far been a great study tool for those like me that are intimidated by physical books. I have the ASA private oral exam guide (book) as well as this app and have been comparing the two side by side. The outcome: the app is just like the book and a great way to stop yourself from cheating by looking at the answer before you read the question. The only flaw I have found thus far half way through is that on a few of the questions the full answer does not exist as printed in the book for example, chapter 4, question 1 asked what the four control surfaces are and there functions.. The book lists all four as ailerons,elevator,rudder,and trim tabs. However this app leaves out trim tabs. Other than that a great study aid and well worth it!

I got this and the dauntless rideready private pilot check ride app. Tthis Asa app just had too few questions to be useful.  It appears to be a generic copy of their rather thin booklet.  The dauntless app was well worth it as that one has about 4 times the number of questions and the illustrated content is much much better.   Don't waste your money on this app.  Also, the content of this Asa app is old.  Modern avionics and rule changes are barely covered.   Really, this app is a waste.
