Description

Prog is the only music magazine solely devoted to progressive music in all its many guises.
Prog rock has undergone such a renaissance in the past three years it now forms a major and respected part of rock music as a whole, its influence ranging from as far as the original practitioners like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Yes, Genesis and co through ‘80s standard bearers like Marillion and Asia through to the progressive movers and shakers of today; bands such as Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater, Muse and Radiohead, The Mars Volta and Coheed & Cambria.
Prog reflects this in its broad coverage of the genre. In any one issue you can find an old master like Mike Oldfield, Keith Emerson or Steve Hackett sharing their thoughts whilst young guns like Pain Of Salvation, Anathema, Touchstone or The Reasoning are outing forward their own case for creating a modern slant on the genre.
Packed to the hilt with informative and entertaining interviews with prog musicians old and new and with the most comprehensive reviews and news section a prog fan could possibly hope for, Prog has consistently proved since its inception in January 2009 that it serves prog rock fans every need.

Prog Magazine Reviews

Must have if you’re into prog music

pcerca on

United Kingdom

Great in-depth articles, also all major album releases listed and reviewed. Fantastic source of info.

Nice mag but app very poor

Happychsppy on

United Kingdom

I was looking forward to getting this regularly but had nothing but trouble with the app & the account set up. Finally got a mag down only to find I can only have it on either my iPad or my phone. Not both. Considering cancelling

Paying for extras

ScepticalUK on

United Kingdom

Why do you have to pay for extras you get free with the printed edition e.g. the Jethro Tull magazine ?

Absolute rubbish

JuicyJuleschgvtyytcf on

United Kingdom

Don't even bother downloading, you can't get to the issue you want and if you do try to contact customer service, it's the worst in the world. Don't sign up for direct debit either as they never acknowledge any communication. Sadly there is not a zero star option.

Having A Laugh

Grant Robb on

United Kingdom

Just updated app only to discover I no longer have any rights to the numerous back issues I have bought from this publisher. The small print does inform you of this but that is where you usually look when you have a problem. This is supposed to be the future but if the publisher came into my home and removed a box of printed back issues I know what I would call it - theft.

A mess

Johnmeds on

United Kingdom

This is a complete mess, over-elaborate interface make this a nightmare to read. Please make it simple so I can read it.

Needs to be improved

Luaprendrag on

I have been subscribing to Prog digital for sometime now and have waited for a few issues of the new version to be published before commenting. The original version was great, you could zoom in on a page ALL of the paper version of the mag was there to read. But the new digital version has removed the zooming function so for some of us who need glasses it's not as easy to read and apart from Adverts for Prog mag they have removed all of the adverts from record dealers, publishers, concert venues etc. how the heck they can cover costs is a question. They should put the adverts back as these made the original version and now I'm thinking of having to go back to buying the paper one and not the modern digital version!

Buyer beware

Hutchguv on

United Kingdom

Just a warning to potential customers... I had previously bought quite a few issues of the magazine through the old app. When the new updated app replaced the old one, the issues I had bought previously were no longer available to download. After numerous emails to the publisher I was told there was nothing they could/would do. The thought of having digital issues in 'The cloud' that can be downloaded at any time appealed to me.... Unfortunately this seems to be a pipe dream. The publisher is quite happy to take the money but offer no solution if they decide to no longer host issues one has previously purchased. It's such a shame as magazine itself is excellent.

Still brilliant

A swift and timely update to iOS8 and I can keep reading my issues of Prog. The articles are unmatched in the UK and I keep learning about fantastic new bands. A must have tablet magazine.

Excellent
