Description

Prog is the only music magazine solely devoted to progressive music in all its many guises.
Prog rock has undergone such a renaissance in the past three years it now forms a major and respected part of rock music as a whole, its influence ranging from as far as the original practitioners like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Yes, Genesis and co through ‘80s standard bearers like Marillion and Asia through to the progressive movers and shakers of today; bands such as Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater, Muse and Radiohead, The Mars Volta and Coheed & Cambria.
Prog reflects this in its broad coverage of the genre. In any one issue you can find an old master like Mike Oldfield, Keith Emerson or Steve Hackett sharing their thoughts whilst young guns like Pain Of Salvation, Anathema, Touchstone or The Reasoning are outing forward their own case for creating a modern slant on the genre.
Packed to the hilt with informative and entertaining interviews with prog musicians old and new and with the most comprehensive reviews and news section a prog fan could possibly hope for, Prog has consistently proved since its inception in January 2009 that it serves prog rock fans every need.

Prog Magazine Reviews

This app is trash and they stole my money.

WriterRic on

Just shutdown, took all my back issues away and now doesn’t work at all. I have no idea why Apple lets this rotting corpse stay in the App Store. Avoid this app at all costs.

Been years with no fixes

It's March 2021, and I'm experiencing the same issues that have been posted here for six years. Purchased issues have been deleted and not restored, then total login failures that haven't been addressed. Can't change your password or otherwise workaround log in errors. They have my money, and I remain locked out. Ridiculous.

Used to be a huge fan

The latest app update deleted all issues and after restoring purchases, am missing a number of special issues that I purchased over the years. This is completely unacceptable. Fix this or give refunds on what we bought.

Rip off!

Old Prog app won't open previously purchased issues - it crashes. New Prog app doesn't restore previous purchases...!!? Do they really expect people to buy issues a second time?

I strongly advise against patronizing Prog Magazine.

It's bad enough Apple Newsstand app blows, but the conversion to the this new app made me lose every single back issue magazine that I purchased. If you had the misfortune to upload this crappy app, good bye magazines. You can't even contact them for some type of reimbursement. Apple will give you the run around to email them which lead you to write a scathing filled review like this. I would rather pay the import higher price than to ever purchase anything from the publishers of Prog Magazine or this crappy app.

Avoid at all costs

New iPad - all of my magazines will not show up. All of my others magazine apps - type in password and restore - done. This is the only mag app I own that you will spent countless hours trying to use the content you bought.

Library gone

My Prog, Total Film and SFX subscriptions have disappeared since the last iOS update.

Lost all my back issues. Either restore or refund them. Am I supposed just trust you and buy again?

Great magazine Horrible App!

arfkm on

United States

Per the other reviews, the onus is on the subscriber to prove their subscription. So I won't go into that. The real problem is how terrible the new app is! All your old magazines can't be read on the new app. Plus the new app is confusing trying to figure out how to turn pages and scroll up and down and sideways. What's the point of all that??? How any of that better than turning a page? Love the magazine. Absolutely hate the new format.

Yet another AWFUL changeover from Future to TeamRock

Paste & Plato on

United States

I really enjoy PROG magazine, and having access to it while traveling via an App has generally been a good thing. However, both this changeover and the one for the sister publication Classic Rock have been woefully managed by TeamRock. First, you just stop getting updates about new issues. Once you figure out that you need to download the new TeamRock app, you do so. But that's where the "fun" really begins. Despite being a paid up customer with Apple's store, TeamRock claims that they cannot verify your subscription. As a result, you are required to take the additional step of proving (via receipt or screen capture) that you have the subscription that you've already paid for and been charged for. It's practically criminal, and I cannot believe that TeamRock did not factor in a transfer of the customer list and subscription lengths from Future when the purchase was concluded. The whole process feels very disorganized and unprofessional (while I'll admit that the staff answering questions has been friendly). Nonetheless, it is OUTRAGEOUS that any of have to "prove" ownership of something we've already bought through the App Store. Just awful.
