## ProShotCase Description
Underwater Camera App designed for the ProShot Dive Case, ProShot Touch 2.0 Case, and all other ProShotCase waterproof iPhone housings. The ProShotCase app changes your iPhone’s volume buttons into camera controls providing you with full camera functionality while filming underwater using a ProShotCase. The volume (-) button cycles between all camera modes (photo, video, slomo, timelapse, timer, selfie cam, sleep), and the volume (+) button becomes the action button (takes a photo, starts/stops video, etc.). You can zoom in (to 3.0x) and out (to ultra wide angle camera) by long-pressing your volume buttons. You have the option to record video in 60 FPS, and in 4K, which when enacted records video in Dolby Vision HDR for true-to-life color and contrast. For advanced photographers, you have the option to turn on RAW Photo Mode and Wide Gamut Color. All footage taken in the ProShotCase app is also saved directly into your iPhone's native Photos app for easy editing and sharing. 

The ProShot Dive Case is a hardshell underwater housing, rated to 130ft/40m, and the ProShot Touch 2.0 Case is a touchscreen compatible underwater housing, rated to 50ft/15m. Both cases have easy to press volume buttons which you use to control this app.. When using this app with a ProShot Touch case, you can interact with it through traditional touchscreen UI when above the water. ### **--- "Case is great; app still bad. :-("
I’ve been using ProShot cases for several years, since they first came out. The case itself is good, and customer service for the cases is top-notch when I’ve needed help.

The app, however, is still not good, despite several years of updates. My iPhone 14 overheats when the app is running. Also, even when on dry land, touch screen does not work. (I know touch screen doesn’t work underwater, but it used to work above water, for changing app settings or switching to selfie camera; today, nope.)

I do like that it’s now simpler to toggle between video and photo, and I like the long-press to zoom in or out, although it doesn’t seem to be utilizing the different iPhone lenses when it zooms; I think it’s just digitally zooming the 1x lens. (Normally when switching lenses, the image shifts slightly due to the different positions of the lenses; when zooming in with the app, there is zero image shift.)

Image quality is great with iPhone 14, especially with the pink filter for snorkeling. Here’s hoping the app gets rebuilt in time for a 2026 trip to the Coral Triangle — if not, I gotta bail and get something different. Which is a shame, because iPhone has such a great camera, and it’s sweet to have your snorkel pics right there in your photos instead of having to transfer from a different device like a GoPro.

Purchased proshot camera case for my iPhone SE for upcoming dive trip but app stopped working before I got a chance to use it. Worked great when 1st downloaded. Tested several times on land and worked as advertised. 1 week later, it suddenly stopped working. App will not access camera. All camera and photo settings are set according to app’s setup instructions. Phone camera works otherwise. Deleted and redownloaded proshot app several times but camera will not turn on when using the app. Black screen in photo/video/selfie mode. Phone is running iOS ver 17.5.1. Very angry and frustrated. Total waste of money!

### **--- "Very difficult to use"
The case does the job but the app is super frustrating. The sales pitch says it’s simple - one button to rotate through photo/sleep/video and the other button to capture footage/snap the pic. I found that sometimes the buttons don’t work at all so you’re pressing and pressing with no response, sometimes they work - and when they work as advertised it’s great - and sometimes you press it and it zooms the camera at .5 increments instead of just taking the photo or video so you completely miss photo ops again and again. None of the instructions say anything about how to zoom vs just taking the image, or - better yet - opting out of zoom functionality, and it’s not in the settings. I looked for tips on You Tube and no one is addressing this. When you’re trying to capture wildlife images underwater the camera needs to respond instantly and predictably- this doesn’t. Proshot you need to provide a user manual and developers, please fix this app!

I was very excited about this case for my vacation to USVI. The first time I took it out snorkeling water got to in the case and was not able to take any pictures. The second time i tried it fogged up and could not see to record or take pictures. The third time the battery got so hot that the phone shut off. It is a waste of money and would not recommend this product to anyone.

Tried it at home and within 20 minutes the phone is as hot as I’ve ever felt it.  Battery damaging app.  Also seems buggy.  Can’t seem to get any of the other functions working besides photo, sleep, and video.   Can’t adjust zoom, front to back, or anything else.  Sleep doesn’t seem to work either, and the phone kept getting hotter.   PLEASE HELP!!!

Just downloaded the app and started exploring the settings and within a couple of minutes, the back of my phone physically got too hot to hold. Closed the app and it immediately cooled down. Tried again a few minutes later and got the same results. Now, I’m hesitant to use my new underwater case if the app causes my phone to overheat and potentially damages it.

The app seems to work fine but even if you go into advanced settings and tell it to shoot raw, it doesn’t utilize the 48mp sensor of the new iPhone. You only get 12mp photos out of it. Guess I will have to see if I can figure out a hack to use the underwater case with the apple camera app :(

App kept crashing and couldn’t close the welcome hints. Never able to use the app with my new ProShot Dive Case. Maybe I can dig up an old phone still running iOS 14 and see if the app works on that since it was last updated 3 years ago… Yikes! Hopefully they fix it soon so their new products can be used with new devices.

We are on our second ProShot case; because of newer iPhones. Looking forward to taking out the new 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max compatible case into our beloved Hawaiian waters. But the app is seriously in need of some refinements and adjustments. The app cycles between photo, zoom and wide angle, but with serious disregard to the multiple cameras on the 12 and 13 Pro Max phones from Apple. This is an issue that seriously needs to be resolved in order to make this case and it’s accompanying photo app a stellar package. This review is written as of August 2022. Whale watching season is right around the corner! Let’s hope too much time doesn’t pass without an update to the ProShot Camera app.

### ****- "Great app, a little buggy and doesn’t allow 0.5x wide-angle on “underwater mode”"
Using iPhone 12 pro, and the case works GREAT for keeping things dry! The videos are awesome. Sometimes bugs out while in “underwater mode”, where the controls change function (i.e., “sleep” mode records video, “photo” puts the app to sleep, and “video” takes the pictures). 

The underwater mode only allows for “1.0x” recording, when you switch to wide-angle 0.5x and then switch to “underwater mode”, the app forces the camera back to “1.0”. Would love to be able to record underwater footage in wide-angle, please!! 🙏🏼💙
