More information about GETS and WPS:
The Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS) supports national leadership; federal, state, local, tribal and territorial governments; first responders; and other authorized national security and emergency preparedness (NS/EP) users. It is intended to be used in an emergency or crisis situation when the landline network is congested and the probability of completing a normal call is reduced. Wireless Priority Service (WPS) supports national leadership; federal, state, local, tribal and territorial governments; and other authorized national security and emergency preparedness (NS/EP) users. It is intended to be used in an emergency or crisis situation when the wireless network is congested and the probability of completing a normal call is reduced.
Works great for iPhone but can we get an Apple Watch with cellular app? When dealing with emergencies, I can open a conference line on my Apple Watch and go “hands free”. Would be helpful to have this app for Apple Watch for those situations.
Easier than remembering PIN
Works well. If for some reason it’s asking for a PIN again, check your PIN number. It does that when it’s wrong but doesn’t notify you it wasn’t recognized.
Nice update!
This app has always worked well for me but this update was needed. Really like it!
Nice update
I’ve used this app for years and it has always worked well for me. I’m glad to see it get a new look. So far no problems
Not working
App doesn’t seem to be entering the pin correctly. Keeps asking to re-enter then says cannot be completed.
Pin Entry Doesn’t Work
Update (7/8/19). Problems appear to be solved. Currently functioning very well
Original Review (1 star). Even though I loaded my pin into the app, it doesn’t work when GETS is dialed. I must re-enter the pin. Possibly the delay (I assume created by the two automatically inserted commas) isn’t enough time.
Capability w/phones that use multiple SIMS/eSim
The app works as advertised, but discovered that on my iPhone XS that utilizes two eSims and one physical sim, that the user cannot discern/select which number to make a WPS call within the app. Of the three lines on my phone, only one has dedicated WPS access from Verizon.
Great app for public safety - not accessing contacts
Seems like a great app for WPS and GETS users. I can’t get it to load my contacts into the app even though I’ve granted the app permission to access them. Deleted app and reinstalled with same results. My coworkers on the same device and software are able to load their contacts.
