## Puzzmo: Solve. Smile Description
Hello! If you're reading this you either really love Puzzmo or you are somehow undecided about our app. Let's be clear: you should download the app. We made it for you and it's free and it's really good! What do you have to lose?

Puzzmo is the center of the puzzle universe. You'll find fresh original games by brilliant designers like Zach Gage and new daily puzzles for modern classics like Cross|word, SpellTower, Flipart, Typeshift, Pile-Up Poker, Memoku, and more. You'll also find a little puzzle at the bottom of this AppStore description. Go on, scroll to the bottom.

NEW: MEMOKU
Inspired by the classic memory game, Memoku invites you to match pairs of numbers, but there's a twist – like Sudoku, no number can appear in the same row, column, or box twice.

BONGO
Bongo challenges you to build a better board out of twenty five tiles, often picked on a theme by Puzzmo's friends, community members, and celebrity guests. There’s always a better board.

PILE-UP POKER
Pile-Up Poker is a twist on traditional poker where players build rows and columns of poker hands. The objective is to create the highest overall score by adding cards one by one to the gird, making strategic decisions along the way.

FLIPART
Flipart is a modern twist on digital jigsaw puzzles. This free daily puzzle challenges you to rearrange Tetris-like shapes by tapping the pivot points so that none of the shapes overlap and they all fit within the border. Flipart puzzles are enjoyable for kids and adults alike!

TYPESHIFT
Typeshift is our free, daily captivating word puzzle game that challenges your vocabulary, spatial reasoning, and wit. Solve puzzles by shifting columns of letters like a combination lock to form words. Each puzzle is a fun brain-teaser chock full of both word search and strategy.

CROSS|WORD
Puzzmo crossword puzzles are for everyone. Some of the world’s top solvers compete daily for the fastest solve on Puzzmo, but that doesn’t mean we’re here to stump you. In fact if you’re new to crosswords or struggling complete a grid, we’re here to help. Only Puzzmo crosswords offer an optional, easier hint with every single clue.

CUBECLEAR
Cube Clear is a word puzzle game where players spell words in a grid whose letters then disappear. Longer words score higher points, and adjacent tiles disappear after use, causing remaining tiles to tumble to the bottom of the grid. With only 36 letters, the challenge of Cube Clear is two-fold. Can you clear the board, and in how few words?

WORDBIND
Wordbind is a directional anagram game that challenges you to discover new words hidden within the chosen words of the day. You can only key in letters from left to right, you’re allowed to skip letters, and you can use the same letter twice to find the perfect word. With each word you find, you rise the ranks on your way to Luminary status.

REALLY BAD CHESS
Aside from the small advantage white gains by making the first move, chess is a battle of wits between two competitors with the same pieces in the same positions. Puzzmo’s free daily Really Bad Chess game turns all of that “fairness” on its head. For example, you might have a huge material advantage with three queens while your computer opponent might have no queens and five rooks. The pieces may look random, but your advantage is carefully calculated!

SPELLTOWER
SpellTower is a two-dimensional grid of letters that looks like your typical word search puzzle. But unlike a traditional word search, you can change directions, cross your own path, go diagonal, and even spell backwards! This freedom of movement allows you to find more complex and challenging words, but this isn’t the only twist with SpellTower. As you use letters, they disappear from the grid, with the ultimate goal being a perfect, total clear of the entire board.

You found it! If you can solve this classic riddle, enter the answer at puzzmo.com/code

"Forward I’m heavy, backwards I’m not. What word am I?"

Happy puzzling!

## Puzzmo: Solve. Smile Reviews in United States

### *---- "Misleading Free Trial"
I wanted to get an honest experience from this app before committing to paying for a subscription. Unfortunately, I obliged to the free week of Puzzmo Plus and I “canceled” it for renewal in my settings/subscriptions to make sure I don’t forget just in case. If I liked the game I could always pay the 3.99 later. The subscription list in my settings states that the subscription ends November 18th, however I have ads and the same games and options that are blocked on the unpaid version are blocked. So this was a waste of a free trial and it’s hard not to assume that it’s because I “canceled” even though it says I SHOULD have access to the trial until November 18th. Kinds deters me from wanting to pay for it if the trial has issues and I can’t even get the full experience. Seems very misleading.

### ***** "Amazing!"
Downloaded after NYT paywalled the mini crossword 😒 NYT ain’t got NOTHING on Puzzmo! Crosswords aren’t too easy or too hard and same with the hints! There are usually multiple to do per day. No annoying ads! The other games are pretty fun too and there are a lot of free options. Would love a game like connections though 👀
-- 5$68@$:S, 2025-11-06

### ***** "Great crosswords and puzzle design"
I really appreciate Brooke's editing of crosswords and Zach Gage's puzzle design and prototyping.

The crosswords are frequently novel and high quality, and I enjoy learning about global cultures from the clues.

I wish prototypes were freely available in beta, and that paywalled games had a free "tutorial" puzzle.

Might help conversions?
-- zxcvb___, 2025-10-29

### *---- "Free means useless"
I get not being able to play the archives, but suddenly I’ve “reached my puzzle cap.” There’s no documentation about this anywhere. I have no idea of this is a daily, weekly, monthly, or all time cap. The app bricked itself and i will be uninstalling.
-- aaron.shep, 2025-10-29

### ****- "Really bad chess is frustrating"
While I love Puzzmo and the games that it offers, I find the chess game mode really frustrating. I understand the idea behind it, and I think it has potential. But as someone who doesn’t play chess very often, I can’t honestly say it’s fun to throw myself at the two daily chess games against a relatively unforgiving AI, especially when the game plays nothing like actual chess. It’s especially frustrating when you finish every other game, only to be left with chess to finish the page.
Again, I don’t entirely dislike the concept of the game, but I think the game would seriously benefit from some sort of difficulty setting at the expense of points. I think being able to lower the elo of your opponent would make the game much more fun, and finishing a page would actually feel enjoyable, rather than a test of patience after finishing the rest of the games.
-- king Carp, 2025-10-13

### *---- "Pay wall"
I used to always do the Puzzmo puzzles in the morning with my mom, it was our thing. But when they made this GINORMOUS pay wall that blocked of most of the fun games we couldn’t play anymore. Apparently they are just greedy for more money.
-- Pengu person, 2025-10-02

### ****- "Weird change"
This app is a super fun time to be able to do little puzzles everyday and I’ve shared it with as many people as I could. I think this is a great addition to anyone’s home screen and is worth the daily check in. My only problem is that, very recently, everything has been put behind a pay wall minus the crosswords. I understand that it’s a free app and that paywalling extras is the business model, but I miss doing the weather sudoku and block puzzles. Simple solution is to obviously just pay, but you’ve set a precedent when those games were previously available and that means something.
-- Health E Bohner, 2025-10-02

### *---- "Giant Paywall Erected"
Puzzmo just implemented a bigger paywall for all but three of their games after you’ve played 150 games. This is in addition to the paywall they already had around some games. They did this with no announcement anywhere on the app or website, not even on their subscription page explaining the benefits. It seemed like a bug so I had to dig for information, eventually finding that somebody had posted to a subreddit a screenshot of Puzzmo’s discord announcement, the only place they announced the change. 🙄

Also, the iOS app is a garbage wrapper around their mobile website. But at least it was a reminder on my Home Screen to waste a little of my time every day. Now I get all that time back as I’m uninstalling.

p.s., the developers are blogging about how much they’re loving AI writing their code for them, so expect it to go further downhill too.
-- atrophic, 2025-09-30

### *---- "Half the Game Suddenly Locked Behind Pay Wall"
Until today you could play pretty much every game free. But I logged on to play my favorite games, and now the only games you can play free out of the THIRTEEN they offer, are Crossword, Circuits and Flipart. You used to also be able to play Bongo, Spelltower, Memoku, Weather Memoku, Pile up Poker, Pile up Poker Pro, Really Bad Chess and Typeshift. That’s EIGHT used-to-be-free games they locked behind a pay wall. Shame on you developers.
-- HarpyMutt, 2025-09-30

### **--- "this app is being ruined"
i love puzzmo’s games, but this app is slowly becoming a pain to use. i understand the need for ads, but recently they’ve been appearing out of nowhere and disabling the screen. it really interrupts the whole experience in a way i don’t encounter on desktop. also, this new “play another” button trying to force us to pay for games that are ALREADY FREE??? it’s a mess.
-- kxllxr3, 2025-09-10

### ****- "Fun"
Fun games. Doesn’t give free week to try. If you cancel one day in they lock you out because you’re not subscribed.
-- Massie Gr, 2025-08-20

### ***** "Great game"
Do you know there’s a lot of puzzles and they’re really fun do someone that copied this game they were called Puzzmo brain puzzle game and they were a big fat copycat and the one who likes this game please tell it please give it five stars it’s so fun
-- KJ 21 seris, 2025-08-10

### **--- "Poor design"
Just a terribly designed hodgepodge of games. Ads has started to launch midgame multiple times. Just deleted.
-- Nag screens, 2025-08-09

### *---- "Poorly put together game - avoid this game!"
Boring, repetitive, unfair, these are words that perfectly describe this low effort cobbled together hodgepodge of unfocused and nonsensical games.
-- sweetman_0, 2025-08-06

### *---- "Fix really bad chess."
Really bad chess needs an option to change the difficulty. No one is going to like it if it’s that hard without having options to change the difficulty. This is just idiotic. The app is mediocre at best. “Puzzmo” Is basically a Wordle rip off. Wordle also has a mobile app. So this app is just useless. You’re better off playing Wordle instead of Puzzmo because Wordle doesn’t constantly want you to purchase a subscription to play the other games. Wordle only does that with 1 game of the multiple games it has.
-- Catsnaker, 2025-08-05

### *---- "Not worth it"
I downloaded and Played 2 puzzles it asked for money. I deleted app.
-- Nemeqi, 2025-07-25

### ****- "Loyal Zach Gage Fan"
I have been a HUGE fan of Zach’s puzzles and apps for almost a decade. Starting with Sage Solitaire, then Type Shift, and Good Sudoku… I’ve poured hundreds, if not thousands of hours into his games. I’ve been desperately waiting for new packs to be added to Type Shift for years, so imagine the glee I felt finding it a part of this new daily puzzle app!!!

The new puzzle games, along with some of Zach’s classics, are delightful, creative, engaging and challenging. I love that they’re always testing new types of puzzles, and that we, the users get to participate. I love the variety, the quantity, and most of all, the uniqueness!!

Unfortunately, one of the most important aspects of an app, the UI, is horrendous. And I mean just abysmal. Instead of being clean, inviting, simple… it’s confusing, convoluted and impossibly complicated to navigate. It honestly has the look and feel of scrolling through a newspaper.

Each day should have its own “page”, with that days puzzles featured in icons or small images. The archives should be easy to navigate. (Right now I can’t even get it to open another day.) I would strongly encourage the devs to check out a couple other daily puzzle apps, specifically: The Daily Puzzle (Typosaurus), Everyday Puzzles (Fanatee), and Puzzle Page (AppyNation). These are fantastic apps that have perfected their main UI and streamlined their archives both by date and type of puzzle. (While these apps are the same concept of Puzzmo, they’re all just generic puzzles you can find anywhere, so I don’t consider them “competition”.) I love the little jokes, the “news”, and especially the weather, but there’s got to be a cleaner way to present it all.

As I said in the beginning, the puzzles are terrific, which is most important and why I’ll keep coming back. But if I wasn’t such a fan of Zach’s, my rating would have been much lower, and I probably wouldn’t even bother with the app. I reaaaaally hope a redesign is in the works for a near future update.

Also, the clue packs were my absolute favorite from type shift, please consider adding some of those!
-- ThatsNot.MyName, 2025-07-18

### ****- "iPad Compatibility or at least a landscape mode please!"
The app only opening in an iPhone sized portrait mode is definitely a bummer. I'll probably stick to playing Puzzmo in my web browser in my iPad mini for now since I can use landscape mode and have the game in full screen.
-- Acey5, 2025-07-09

### ***** "The best puzzle game for me tbh"
I play it every day and it’s still entertaining.absolute cinema✋🤚
-- Turtle fan14, 2025-07-02

### ***-- "Sounds are problematic"
When I open this app, if I forget to turn my volume down, the app should at me.

I have sounds disabled in the app….. but there are still sounds?

I like the concept of this app, and the puzzles are good.

But I think you guys need to ask yourselves, “Is my app annoying to open and use?”

For me it is.
