Originally felt the app was good, but can’t use arrow keys or even run the program sometimes! Super laggy sometimes and certain pieces of code crashes the app completely. Absolutely horrible and would not recommend, especially after the developer has not updated the app in over a year.

This is a great package to use. It’s easy to write and run code, handles all the normal python things. For learning python it is very accessible but still complete. Easy to just pick up the iPad and try a few things. Easy to export or import code segments or save and backup programs. I am mainly using my 12 inch iPad Pro and this package makes great use of the realestate. I am happy to pay for a program that runs as well as this one and has obviously taken many hours to develop.

I have been trying to learn Python and then I found this app and at first it was good but then I started learning how to put kinda pictures up on the screen and I have tried multiple times and its not that I am not doing it right because I am copying of my teachers app and on that app it lets you code it and it works so I would like to rate this a 5 star but I do not know why the coding doesn’t work properly it might just be me but I don’t think it is

This app is amazing for using python on the go but personally I think it should be free because coding should be something that everyone should have access to

Seriously, the fact that they were able to fit a full python interpreter around Apple’s App Store restrictions is some seriously good work. The editor interface works really well, and it makes scripting on your tablet a lot more painless than you would first imagine. I’d still recommend a keyboard if you’re doing more involved scripts, but for a quick edit it’s perfectly doable. Add in the share menu shortcuts and you have a really powerful scripting environment for your phone or tablet.

If you’re into Python programming this is a must have. Serious quality app for serious quick scripting. Works great on my iPhone 6 Plus. I enjoyed the examples and like how a favourite program can be used for the phones widgets.

This is a must have for learning python... prob the best IDE for learning in my opinion.. thank you team.. no more taking my MacBook around with me when learning python..

I downloaded the Pythonista app to modify an Apple setting to auto-run on command. While the app provides detailed pictures of its layout, I quickly found it overwhelming. This app is clearly designed for users who already have a solid understanding of Python and know how to navigate complex UI interfaces. Unfortunately, it doesn’t teach you how to use Python or how to make the app work for your needs. I requested a refund through Apple, stating that the app didn’t work as I expected, but my request was denied. I feel like I wasted my money and cannot recommend this app to beginners or anyone unfamiliar with Python.

Pythonista on its own is great. But for someone confined with limitations in both their physical and virtual environments: Pythonista is missing a major opportunity for next-level coding and learning with ChatGPT or even with Claude as well. On Mac? ChatGPT can integrate with countless apps to read what’s going on. Pythonista could and should have taken it a step farther by having full ChatGPT code environment hand-off and read/write integration for local code / script execution (including R). ChatGPT’s code environment usually has around 750MB RAM free which can quickly become insufficient with neural networks. Copying and pasting, iterating, works: but is suboptimal. The solution for when ChatGPT detects its in the iPhone app and running into memory constraints is to ask “would you like me to use your local Pythonista environment” and then execute and display results back in both the app and in ChatGPT, sometimes back to Claude for it to fix something. ChatGPT is a great start, and Claude would be a wonderful addition. Pythonista is gorgeous and functionally brilliant and fast. Pythonista should become the “go-to” for AI coding offloads on iPhone… otherwise other solutions will make their way there eventually. Only a matter of time…
