Pyto is an IDE for iPhone and iPad with a Python 3.10 Interpreter and all of the standard libraries plus more than 100 third party packages, as well as a C & C++ compiler and bitcode interpreter. Many bugs
Got premium because of the YouTube-dl shortcut. Unfortunately this doesn’t work anymore. I decided to download yt-dlp which required me to make another in-app purchase. Unfortunately it still doesn’t work due to some underlying issue with the app. The terminal doesn’t always work. The UI lags a LOT
Couldn’t get it working
I was curious and wanted to try it out. Downloaded the program. After the download started the app and it asked for the free 3 day trial. 3 day trial downloaded but afterwards it gave me an unknown error occurred message.
need money
you need money to use it and i’m not gonna spend money for something I have on my laptop anyway
Pygame doesn’t work
With Pypi i tried installing pygame but it didn’t work, i tried it with pip also doesn’t work, then i tried installing it manually also doesn’t work!☹️
Works very well with LightPipes!
I have installed my LightPipes package in Pyto on my new iPad Pro. LightPipes is written in pure Python and makes heavily use of the numpy and scipy packages. All the LightPipes examples I tried worked without problems and very fast. Pyto even found a few warnings in my code which I repaired in the latest version of LightPipes (2.1.0). Thank you for that too! The only thing I missed was ‘tkinter’, which I use in a few scripts. I hope that ‘tkinter’ can be added in a future release of Pyto?
Awesome app, what does the future hold?
Love it. Works better and nicer than Pythonista for me. However, after using Pythonista I am now a bit weary. What does updating look like? Will Pyto support Python 3.9 soon and 3.10 in the future?
The best
This app has everything that you would need in the pc. It works like a champ!! However I would include one section in the options that says that you have free or pro version because it’s a little confusing.
Why the !@#$ can’t I add quotes to a string literal???
Overall this is a wonderful program. But there is one real pain. Occasionally I find that I have forgotten to put a string literal between quotes. After typing the first quote I can’t place the cursor anywhere else and the only thing I can do is retype the whole string again and deleting the string that was already there. Why is this and how can I change this behavior?
