Qfile Pro FAQ
Is Qfile Pro free?
Yes, Qfile Pro is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Qfile Pro legit?
⚠️ The Qfile Pro app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
The previous version was supportive and had the ability to choose between three viewer options. But Qfile pro does nothing and times out and only really plays MP4 files. VLC option constantly fails no longer works anymore (this could be a VLC issue or QFILE pro problem). The Qfile (native iOS decoder) only comes up based on certain file types. This app used to work about 2-3 versions ago but now it’s pretty much useless.
iPhone 15 background upload not working
Hello team, this app is beautiful I have been using for many years now and I love it.
Noticed on the iPhone 15 pro max it’s not uploading in background. Please fix this issue, thank you!
V3.3.0. Can't login after upgrade
App crashes on iPad when trying to connect when qnap id has expired and app prompts if you want to use it again. If you say 'yes' app immediately crashes v
Space eater
this app should help to backup your photos/videos to free space on the phone. I looked the cache size and it was huge with GBs like 24GBs of cached data.
I wish Qnap to come up with a simpler app to backup both videos/photos without too much hassles. there are many examples to inspire you look at the photo back up for QNAP and do the same it look nicer less complicated and it works.
thanks and hope it helps to improve the product.
Junk. This QGenie has alway had its quirks but now NO connection at all
Send in support ticket and again nothing. What gives?
Snappy now and supports .Heic image format
Previous versions were slow but this refresh is very nice and works without a hitch.
Broken, and Very Unpleasant Interface
The new interface design of this app is one of the worst I’ve ever seen, especially compared to the previous interface which was clear, intuitive, well thought out and highly functional. This horrible interface has data screens that visually look more like menu screens, menu screens that are actually just information windows, pull-down buttons that done open an attached menu but rather open something on a totally different area of the screen, far from the button, and a mix of menu styles that feels like someone was given a challenge of trying to use every menu and visual style there is in a single app.
The app is not only completely unintuitive now, but it is actually annoying and unpleasant to use, and has lost functionality because of the extremely poor thought out redesign. For example, the app used to clearly show if photos were in the process of being uploaded, along with a nice summary view of the photo and progress of the process; it’s important to know what our NAS is doing. Now, that is broken, or even worse, intentionally removed. To even know your NAS is in the middle of doing something as extremely common as uploading photos, you have to dig through THREE menus, including an annoying slider menu, to even know if something is going on.
There is no common sense used visually, or functionally, anymore in this app. This is a key and fundamental app for a QNAP NAS, if you access anything from a mobile device, but once again, this app illustrates what I’ve seen over the years from QNAP (I have multiple QNAP NAS units), which is that QNAP (except for one period some years ago when they redesigned and fixed many things) progressively decreases the quality of their software, tend to extremely and surprisingly frequently break things that were previously working, and that includes the apps and firmware on the NAS units themselves. I own many NAS units, and every app or firmware update makes me hesitate, because almost every time, I regret it and wish I hadn’t updated because I almost always wind up worse off, with new problems and things no longer working properly as they did before. Their tech support is, for the most part, very unskilled, and my QNAP NAS units now work far slower than they did with previous firmware. Just as a general note, based on years of experience using QNAP NAS products, I would very strongly recommend against buying them (something I no longer do either, and I should really get rid of and replace the ones I have, simple becaus
Ransomware attack
In April 2021 my NAS has become a victim of ransomware attack. The attack was made through a loophole or backdoor in qnap os overlooked by developers. It was only possible to an IT specialist to manually remove the ransomware scrips, no native apps found nothing even after updates. Qnap doesn’t take security of your files seriously. This was performed without any fault by users, look it up before buying qnap NAS.
Update.Latest Version is Worse
Update: 20210426
Latest version is worse. It’s slower. The swipe to delete feature is gone (hence more steps needed to delete). Positive: a feature I requested below to save photos has been added. But, still no addition of needed features, e.g. app does not remember last “Save to/Copy to/Move to” location...hence it is very time consuming and cumbersome to move/copy or save files to your favorite location! Bugs are still there, e.g. “sometimes” deleted folders magically reappear!
————original review below———-
This is a great companion app for my QNAP, but it needs to add some features and bug fixes such as the following. BTW, thanks for listening before and implementing the copy/move to existing folder instead of having to navigate the whole QNAP shared folder structure for each file/folder:
- bug: when deleting a folder using this app, many times the folder disappears and then comes back as an empty folder! Please fix.
- allow download and copy multiple images to the iOS Photos app. I’m a photographer and need to download and edit many photos...I can only do this one at a time right now with QNAP! Very time consuming when I have over 100 images to edit.
- remote download, e.g. send a URL to the QNAP and let the QNAP download the file remotely onto the QNAP (at specified location).
- remember where you last copied-to or moved-to files. This would make it a lot easier to repeatedly copy/move files to your favourite location on the QNAP.
Thanks for listening!
Connection Issue
Since last update, I cannot connect to NAS using the app
