Qustodio Parental Control App

3 day trial along with year long plans. Like all of us (Parenting) life is busy. Can’t really commit to a year long plan with just 3 days to evaluate.

Qustodio has lots of promising features and they’ve clearly thought about what parents want from a screen time app, but ultimately I cancelled my subscription because it just didn’t work that well on my son’s iPad. It seems like they’ve had to come up with work-arounds in order to function on iOS, which impacts the user experience. E.g. if you want to completely lock the iPad, it offloads the apps to achieve that, except: it doesn’t work for some apps, plus your kid can still unlock the iPad and then freaks out because all their games have disappeared, and it’s slow to reinstall the apps when the blocked time period is over. I bought this app for less screen-time drama, and although it did help with setting clearer time limits and on/off times, it also created new problems and ultimately wasn’t worth the hassle.

Multiple times now I have extended the daily time limit and it doesn't synch to the iPad…. Doing my head in!! So iPad stays blocked

Awful. Didn’t block any of the apps I blocked and constantly reset what I put down. Don’t recommend a complete waste of money.

My daughter can keep the apps open and even though time is over because she hasn’t exited out of an app she can stay on it for hours after time is up! Also if she has run out of time and gets sent a message notification either on Snapchat, messenger or Instagram she can just swipe down and just push reply.

App seems to change settings back to a default every day allowing the play store to be accessed. I need to manually go into the device daily to turn it off again. My son finds ways to get around this app too. It’s very glitchy. I wouldn’t waste the money to pay for a subscription again.

Useless app. App activity is all wrong, doesn’t even show most of the apps that are being used. And location is completely inaccurate. Don’t download this useless app, complete waste of money. Fix your app, had it for awhile and it worked okay from the start but everything j went downhill, and now nothing is accurate.

Have installed this app on both my son’s devices and all he has to do is to remove the VPN and the profile and then the phone is not blocked. I am now only able to track location. The reason he removed it was because he could not access sites I allowed. I am more reliant on the iOS screen time. The Qustodio solution does work well for Mac and Windows PC. It does not control all websites though but does seem to respect more of the settings. My son has not been able to remove this. I have submitted a request to resolve an issue on the parent app when adding additional time as the confirm button is too low on the screen and does not always work. No response receive to this request.

I downloaded the app onto my phone and also onto my sons computer. My sons computer would turn off and be unable to turn back on again periodically even when the Qustodio app on my phone had given him access to his computer. We’ve now deleted the app and will do the same on the computer once we can turn it back on
