## RaceJoy Description
RaceJoy is created specifically for running, cycling and triathlon events with a focus on the participant and spectator experience. Features vary by event and include live phone tracking, progress alerts, results, race information, photos, Send-a-Cheer and much more!

There are two distinct experiences in RaceJoy:
-Featured Events
-Training Days

Featured Events (shown with the Event Logo):
These are events that have contracted with RaceJoy to provide a premium experience for participants and spectators. Features are free and provided by the event or sponsor(s).

Features included:
-Live GPS, phone tracking on the course map.
-Send-a-Cheer! (fun motivational audio clips).
-NearMe alerts (spectators and waiting relay teams get an alert when a participant is drawing near).
-MeetUp tool for seeing where you are in relation to a participant.
-Automatic Progress Postings to Twitter (with your approval, of course!).

The following features may be provided by the event:
-Scored Race Results within moments of crossing the finish line.
-Essential race information like schedules, FAQs, race news, and more.
-Your official race photos.
-Optional Tracking with Progress Alerts: Some events offer BIBTAG tracking in addition to PhoneTrak. For these events there is no need to carry your phone as this is based on the participant’s BIB/chip as they cross over timing points on the course.

Training Days
This area enables athletes to have their friends and family track their progress live on a map and send motivational cheers during long training runs or rides. All PhoneTrak features are available in Training Days, along with special motivational cheers to help you through those tough moments. Training Days is a free always available area for your long training days. Based on our privacy policy you must setup a special tracking ID (PIN) with profile name and provide that to friends and family tracking you on your Training Days.

Add a Race?
If you would like a race to offer the full featured experience with official race progress alerts and results, please let the race director know about RaceJoy.

Battery Usage
RaceJoy’s live phone tracking feature is ONLY activated during the hours of the event. When using Training Days, the athlete turns on/off tracking as needed. Use of this GPS technology running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. You may disable this under settings at anytime during the event to conserve battery life if needed.

Feedback and Support
We hope you enjoy using RaceJoy! Please share your experience in the App store to encourage others to try it out. If you have had any issues, or have feedback or ideas, please help us to improve the experience by contacting us at support@racejoy.com.

RaceJoy is created by a small family business and is dedicated to changing the race experience.

## RaceJoy Reviews in United States

### ***** "Fun and easy to use"
Enjoyed using it for my half marathon. Made me feel connected to friends who supported me during my training and race.

### ***** "Very cool"
Very cool

### *---- "App crashed"
Terrible experience! Crashed at mile 2 although I was 3.5 miles into my race. App did not update.
-- MJsanjose, 2024-11-28

### ***** "Grrrrreat!!!!"
Totally AWESOME!!!!! 🍁🌿🍂😃💝🦃‼️‼️🎉🎉🎉
-- vGcharm, 2024-11-28

### ***** "El Tour de Tucson, Arizona"
Downloaded this app to track my son riding his bicycle in this race. Watched the tutorial first & then the set up was easy. Liked that I could watch his progress on a map in real time. Alerts came to me at every 5 miles so I always knew how far he had traveled. I could send him audible cheers along the way. At the end the alert said that he had passed the finish line. I highly recommend this app. Even though I am miles away from the event, the app kept e informed as if I was really there.

### **--- "Excellent idea but needs improvement"
I just used this app for the first time for a 100 mile cycling race. I have 2 major complaints.

First, I shouldn’t have to open the app and hit start as I cross the starting line. I have already given the app permission to track me. As long as I open the app at some point before the race starts, that should be sufficient.

Second, I seem to have lost cell signal at some point in the race. My wife stopped getting updates at about mile 55 and when I finished the race and opened the app, I saw a modal (prompt) to enable phone tracking. Considering that I had already been using the app successfully, I had obviously enabled phone tracking. In order to be effective, it should account for loss of signal and just pick up with tracking as soon as possible.

My wife really liked the updates and my position on the corse map as well as estimated arrival time. However, she almost missed me at the finish line due to the updates stopping.

It could have been a great experience with a cool app but unfortunately failed the real world usability test.

### *---- "So glitchy"
Apparently my husband just ran 3 miles but the live map still hasn't updated from the finish line. Notifications work at least.
-- kmartin238, 2024-11-16

### ***** "Jack-o’-lantern 5K inaugural run…"
Awesome job All Community Events
-- Firebaliss, 2024-10-18

### *---- "Sub-par"
App functionality is sub par. There are banner alerts covering text input areas and my results never ended up populating. It seems like a very under-developed app.
-- Nike4ever12, 2024-10-13

### ****- "Off a bit"
Was about 0.15 off at the start of the race. Caught up by the end.
