Can’t get it to connect and maybe it will or maybe it won’t while you least expect it. No longer giving updates patches to fix these problems. Stay away from these RM 500 dash cams. -- Fix the crashing of app, 2025-12-07 ### *---- "No puedo ver los videos" De las peores cámaras -- Mala cámara., 2025-10-11 ### *---- "Dash Cam 500" Very unsatisfied now with this model dash cam. I have 2 of these and bought another one a few years back cause the mount wouldn’t allow charging so plugged right in to the cam itself. Well this was my first and bought one during this dilemma and put up for a reserve. Then the first one wouldn’t connect to my Wi-Fi on my iPhone. I thought the dash cam was toast cause of this. Got my other one out and hooked it up. And again won’t connect to my phone. I’ve tried resetting my phone, unplugging the camera to restart camera and last ditch effort was turning off Wi-Fi on camera and phone then back on. Maybe it will connect or maybe not. I’ve tried to look for updates as the app no longer has this feature and even removed the app and Reinstalled it. You may get it to connect while sleeping but very slim to none……. While I am here can anyone tell me about the garmin dash cams or any other brands? At this point as a truck driver it is very unreliable and don’t have confidence as I once did when I initially purchased the first one. Wow just think if a wreck happened and at no fault of mine and low and behold I can’t prove it because I can’t pull any videos in my defense. I gave it a one star only because I had too. If you find one of these still in new old stock at the truck stops DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BRAND AND MODEL. -- B’Dub, 2025-06-29 ### ***-- "Rand McNally Dashcam 500" The camera works and is a pretty decent quality. Unfortunately when you use your device (I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max) the videos won’t play on it. Once you try to access the videos off of your device the camera freezes up and the iPhone says no videos to view. However once you restart your camera, all the videos can be viewed straight off the camera. I would love to view the videos off of the camera from the device but it seems to not work at all. I have tried to uninstall the app, turn off and on the WiFi connection, and restarting the camera and the iPhone… nothing works to view the videos off of your device. -- Wesley JFl, 2025-06-15 ### *---- "Worthless" The stupid app will not connect to the camera no live feed can’t access setting nothing but yet it’s connected to the camera WiFi I swear Rand McNally makes the absolute worst products I have ever encountered I will never purchase anything else from them -- rorororiroror, 2024-08-25 ### *---- "Disappointed consumer" Why does this app put a Short. Cut on my phone?? I have to go back into the App Store and find it to control things not VERY DRIVER FRIENDLY AT ALL -- Rickb125, 2024-04-29 ### *---- "App update" I have contacted ran McNally numerous times about the iPhone 14s not connecting to Wi-Fi on the dash cam 500 because it will not connect to be able to see videos live feed or to be able to share videos. If you need to all they keep telling me is the app update is coming and it has been going on now for seems like six months and I am starting to get aggravated and fed up with them because I really need my camera in my profession, so ran McNally you need to get off your butt and get something done if you are going to otherwise quit jerking me around with your storyline of it’s a coming. -- Mad trucker at ran McNally, 2023-08-21 ### *---- "The App is hot garbage" I run up north with these gremlins and it’s been several occasions when the app has frozen or didn’t talk to the dash cam with saving the time clips -- Denali863, 2023-06-15 ### *---- "Alberto" I used to live rand McNally I got the TND tablet GPS from day one it gave me issues. The truck is always on the side of the road on the iron or parallel of the road waste of moneyover $500. I also bought the dash camera over $200. It’s a crap rand. McNally have disappointed me so bad. I never buy any products from them again. unless they come up with a solution on their defective product. -- EGL007, 2023-02-09 [View all Rand McNally Wireless DashCam reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Apps Similar to Rand McNally Wireless DashCam - [TruckSmart ™](https://apptail.io/app/trucksmart-Jeb/united-states) - [Blue Beacon Truck Wash](https://apptail.io/app/blue-beacon-truck-wash-fGb/united-states) - [RoadCam](https://apptail.io/app/roadcam-Scq/united-states) - [AMBEST](https://apptail.io/app/ambest-wPT/united-states) - [ELDMandate HOS](https://apptail.io/app/eldmandate-hos-JKPb/united-states) - [RigPark](https://apptail.io/app/rigpark-QvQd/united-states) - [Trucker Guide: Truck GPS Maps](https://apptail.io/app/trucker-guide-truck-gps-maps-bJKh/united-states) - [Truck Parking Club](https://apptail.io/app/truck-parking-club-RRsm/united-states) - [PrePass](https://apptail.io/app/prepass-YXhn/united-states) - [iTracker: Freight Tracking](https://apptail.io/app/itracker-freight-tracking-wkoo/united-states) ## Rand McNally Wireless DashCam Available In - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/united-states) - [Canada](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/canada) - [Mexico](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/mexico) - [Thailand](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/thailand) - [Colombia](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/colombia) - [Czechia](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/czechia) - [Dominican Republic](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/dominican-republic) - [Finland](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/finland) - [Austria](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/austria) - [Hungary](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/hungary) - [Jordan](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/jordan) - [Macao SAR China](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/macau) - [Senegal](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/senegal) - [United Kingdom](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/united-kingdom) - [Australia](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/australia) - [Brunei](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/brunei) - [Switzerland](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/switzerland) - [North Macedonia](https://apptail.io/app/rand-mcnally-wireless-dashcam-WXn/north-macedonia) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
