Endless RPG Solo Tools for D&D

Random Maps for DnD 2024 & 5e

Published by: Daniel Nations

Description

Endless RPG is a random map and adventure generator for Dungeons and Dragons 2024 and D&D 5e focusing on players who want to play as a solo player or in a small group without a dedicated Dungeon Master.
Endless RPG is not a game. It is a tool for generating random maps filled with encounters, traps, treasure, etc. It also has a fog-of-war discovery system, which is ideal for playing D&D solo or in a group as players. But Endless RPG does not roll the dice for you. It is a companion to D&D and can be used alongside other toolkits.
While the focus is on solo play and groups without a DM, Endless RPG includes DM tools that make it an excellent source of a quick map for side quests or even a primary map creator for a longer adventure.
*** PLAY D&D SOLO OR IN A GROUP WITHOUT A DM ***
The Random Dungeon Generator allows you to explore a randomly generated map through a fog-of-war discovery system with encounters, traps, tricks, and treasures displayed as you encounter them. This is perfect for solo play or groups without a dungeon master as you will get no hints of what is behind the next door. (Unless you cast Clairvoyance!)
Custom Dungeons allow you to pick the CR level, map type (cave, crypt, dungeon, tower, stronghold, etc.), a map theme (unholy, mystic, military, etc.), a primary and secondary enemy (orcs, undead, demons, etc.), and an overall difficulty level. You can also choose Quick Mission for a random location and enemy groups.

*** ENDLESS RPG AT A GLANCE ***
* Create random dungeons, caves, ruins, crypts, tombs, strongholds, and keeps along with map themes like military, mystic, unholy, or abandoned.
* Over 200 encounter types (orcs, goblins, etc.) including over 35 with creatures that can level in a class (fighter, thief, wizard, etc.)
* Quick missions will roll up a map with a random enemy in a random location
* Custom maps allow you to specify a primary enemy, a secondary enemy, and a boss enemy
* Quick Battle mode and Battle Map mode for keeping up with combat
* Supports D&D 2024 and 5e
*** UNIQUE ENCOUNTERS ***
The encounter system allows for multiple ways to enhance or modify creatures including:
* equipment such as weapons, armor and shields that can be modified further such as a chipped sword or well-balanced axe
* creature mods such as 7-legged spiders or ultra-large ogres
* creatures that level up in a class such as an orc pyromancer or goblin necromancer
*** QUICK BATTLE AND BATTLE MAPS FOR COMBAT MANAGEMENT ***
While Endless RPG is not intended to replace your favorite combat management app, it does have a few management tools to help combat run smoothly.
The Battle Map will zoom into the map and allow control over character and enemy placement. You can also easily deal out damage or heal combatants and even make quick notes on each member of combat. This is great for larger battles where placement can become crucial.
The Quick Battle system helps keep up with initiative and hit points without the zoomed-in map. It also allows custom notes on all combatants and is great for quicker battles.
The Defeat and Disable Encounter options will let you skip combat and either mark the encounter as dead or disabled in some other way -- such as bribing those unruly orcs or casting a charm spell on the goblins. This is great if you want to do your combat elsewhere.
*** DUNGEON MASTER SUPPORT ***
While Endless RPG is designed to allow solo or DM-less play, it does include a DM mode. This mode allows the DM to see the entire map and edit encounters and treasures. The map can also be shared via email, including a legend for the different encounters, traps, treasures, etc.

Endless RPG Solo Tools for D&D Reviews

Dev abandoned app

Look at the last update. The dev has waved goodbye to this app.

Not sure if bugged

I couldn't find where to report a bug, but I use this on my iPad, and under D&D rules it seems to work perfectly. I am currently playing a Pathfinder character with it though, and while quick adventure works fine, if I load a random map, it always freezes on the loading screen and I have to restart my iPad to reopen the app.

Not what I expected.

The Combat screen is very basic information. The monsters are set to 5e even if you choose pathfinder. At least I thought pathfinder was similar to original d&d. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Freezes up

KRS68 on

Freezes up when you try and view entire map, enter combat and various other instances that are crucial to play. Don’t waste your dollars.

It is what it says it is...

This app does everything it says it will. With that being said, it would be nice to add some variables such as bigger or smaller rooms, but it is random. The selections are for dungeons, do not expect an outdoor area. Yes you can send the map by email, however the bigger the map, the less pixel quality it maintains. Generally this app is pretty good. If you could create a section where the DM could add or remove from the map, that would make this the best app available. I’m glad you added the auto-assign for new characters. This makes the random dungeon creator pop-up automatically.

Trash

This app doesn’t work. When ever you start an encounter and enter the fight, it immediately freezes and you cant even move to see where your characters are. This is a complete waste of money. DO NOT BUY IT.

Amazing app

The app is great, it generates maps and populates them with monsters and treasure. One thing that I think could be improved is the ability to occupy squares were enemies die or be able to delete the dead enemies. Also the size of the enemies is not accurate monsters that should 4 squares only occupy 1, not really a big deal though.

Misleading description and functionality

Nureshkmael on

Not worth the $3. Does not randomly generate adventures as advertised. Only comes with two static maps with no way to create more. Insufficient documentation. Can't view the actual map for the cr1 adventure. When combat occurs, screen goes black.

I wanted dungeon creator and I got endless rpg instead. Not cool.

Well worth the price (for weird people like me)

I didn’t have very high expectations of this app. I’d never heard of it before finding it in the App Store, but in a most uncharacteristic fashion I decided to give it a chance. I set the bar pretty low: if this app could amuse me for at least an hour, it would have been worth $2.00. It exceeded my expectations. There are already plenty of fully automated RPG videogames on the market. If you want one of those, I don’t know how you ended up here, because statistically speaking, it’s unbelievably improbable. This app isn’t for you though, literally thousands of other apps are. If you’re a tabletop RPG addict who is away from his RPing paraphernalia, armed with nothing but a smartphone, but reeeaalllyyy wants a way to satiate your craving to roll dice, use rulebooks, and write on a character sheet, even if you’re all alone, then this app is like instant coffee to a coffee drinker. Yes, you’d prefer Starbucks, but caffeine is caffeine. To that end, you’ll also need a rule book app or pdf, a dice rolling app, and a character sheet app, which I already have. Moreover troubled individuals may not need a character sheet to know all of their stats... I think I have a problem. I’m going to stop typing now so I can go back to killing imaginary skeletons and talking to people who don’t exist. At least I don’t have to make up the dungeon layouts and come up with encounters by myself anymore though.
