## Rankers Camping NZ Description
Kia ora, we’re Rankers, a small 100% NZ-owned crew, collecting camping and travel knowledge since 2007. We’ve spent 20 years in our campervan, have stayed in these places and share the truth with you about what's good.

Rankers Camping NZ shows over 1500 places you can stay, including those where the local community has said you’re welcome. Add over 108k traveller reviews (every single one read by a real person) and a fair whack of hard-won local knowledge, and you can set off with confidence. It’s free, the campsite info works offline from day one, and we don’t sell your data to anyone. We explain how we pay for this below.

• If it shows on this app, you’re welcome to stay
We show camping spots where the local community has officially said yes to overnight stays - free ones and paid ones. No sneaking around at dusk trying to find somewhere, no looking over your shoulder in the morning. It’s all about respect, and the good things that brings to all of us. Put your feet up and relax.

• Local knowledge you can’t google
Our co-owner Cymen has spent twenty years leaving on-the-ground campsite notes: which end of the campground is quietest, where the hidden toilet is, when to arrive so you actually get a spot. None of it scraped, none of it crowd-guessed. Someone went there.

• We don’t sell it, we don’t trade it, we don’t give it to anyone
That’s our whole data policy, more or less. We collect the bare minimum to get the job done, and almost everything in the app works without you telling us anything at all. No creepy tracking, no ads following you around the internet afterwards. Our business isn’t harvesting data - it’s camping.

• Save 10-15% and keep a local app alive
Over 150 activity deals at 10-15% off with the code RANKERS. Plus around 500 bookable campground options - and every booking helps keep a local app free. If you appreciate how we go about things, this is how you can support us.

• Every review read by a real person
Over 108,000 traveller reviews, and every single one has been read and checked by a human on our crew - not a computer. Nobody gets to be anonymous, every reviewer verifies their email, and if an operator disputes the facts we suspend the review while we sort out what’s true. We spent years collecting reviews face-to-face with a clipboard, on the road - the habit of checking never left. Untrusted reviews are a complete waste of time.

• Made by a few humans, not a platform
Camping NZ is run by a handful of Kiwis working around our families, kids and the vege patch. No investors, no head office, nobody to keep happy except you. Which is why this app is allowed to have actual opinions - like which end of a campground has the quiet toilet, or whether anyone’s honestly going to use that portable loo stored under the bed. The big apps can’t talk like that. We can, so we do.

• Works offline straight out of the box
Every campsite, all the info is built right into the app. No signal, no setup - day one, well out of range, it’s in your pocket. Detailed maps are a download while you’ve got wifi. The difference is you’re never left staring at a blank app. Not too shabby.

• All of NZ camping, one free app
Over 1,500 campsites and over 6,600 places all up - dump stations, water refills, LPG, playgrounds, free wifi that doesn’t do silly nonsense to your privacy, i-SITEs and the folks in green at DOC visitor centres. From a full-facility holiday park to an isolated hideaway with one long-drop and a view. Free to download, free to use.

Plus:
• Filter for Top Ranked holiday parks, DOC and free sites
• Full details, photos, rules and pricing for every location
• All public and holiday park dump stations
• Travellers' essentials - fuel, supermarkets, playgrounds, free water, LPG
• Local goodies - markets, roadside stalls, farm gate produce
• Save your favourites to the map
• Improve the app with your own photos and reviews
• Proudly designed and developed in Aotearoa NZ by the Rankers crew

## Rankers Camping NZ Reviews in New Zealand

### *---- "10% charge for booking through rankers"
If you book a campsite through the app you get charged 10% more compared to booking through the campsites actual website
-- Campingnz!, 2024-12-11

### *---- "Bad booking site"
Be careful clicking the link to book through the app, it sometimes leads to a booking site that is more expensive than the camping site own website.
-- Jimmy701, 2024-12-11

### ***** "10/10"
Love using this app, it’s the best way to travel around NZ. Easy to use and always find the best spots to visit. Also love the Bluebridge ferry deal and I’ve passed it on to my mates. Thanks!
-- riverstoat, 2024-11-26

### *---- "Is this thing on?"
Is this app still working for anyone? Mine is literally just a map with no campgrounds listed. The hamburger icon in the upper left does nothing when I click on it….
-- Kearney813, 2024-07-08

### ***** "awesome"
use all the time. this is super
-- cozmo888, 2023-10-04

### ***** "Good"
A great app
Useful
-- Brook9099, 2023-02-18

### ***** "Helpful"
This app is a road trip game changer. Thank you Rankers!
-- r.e.n.e.e.F, 2023-02-10

### *---- "Campsites missing"
There are several campsites missing from this app. I have notified the developer of these but with no response. There are very few reviews and photos for a lot of the campsites and incorrect information. I have taken the time to add reviews and photos and these have never shown up on the app. Waste of time.

I’d advise using one of the more popular camping apps to ensure you are getting the correct / up to date information on the camp sites.
-- Muzz27, 2023-01-13

### ***** "Review"
Good app very helpful
-- c748836, 2022-07-04

### ***-- "Could be so much better"
I like this Ap. But the comments haven’t been updated for months. Several camps on the Ap state no dogs when in actual fact signage at the camps states dogs are allowed (on leads). Having completely wrong info defeats the purpose. I’ve emailed. Was assured it would be updated. It hasn’t.
