thank you for creating apps like this. Many many thanks.
The app works great for reading input text, but when inputting photos of book pages, it is seriously bad. Needs further training or calibration for dealing with image inputs.
if it supports other languages that wud be grt
So I need to update my iOS in order to use your app? Hire at least one senior manager or engineer that actually know what they are doing. Forcing users to update in an app that simply sends requests to a server and receives the responses back is unacceptable. Pure unprofessionalism.
The app will no longer import my self-created epub files. It keeps giving me the reconnect error and tells me to try again. Other than that, this app is phenomenal!!! I really like the 11labs favourites voices. There a a good selection to suit my particular listening tastes. The other ones are good too…. I’m pretty amazed at the tech advancements in this area. I love reading, but it’s so much better listening and being able to draw or play different games.
So the app itself is pretty good in terms of functionality. However, the voices are really bad. I typically listen to/read my academic texts at 1.5-2.0 speed, and at these higher speed settings ALL the voices sound tinny and hollow. I think speechify is way overpriced and has a lot of other issues, but at least the voices are good.
The voice is so much more natural than any other digital reader. Love it! Would love to see some smarter scanning to text to reading, such as handling hyphens correctly at the end of lines and uniting the two parts as one word again. There are a few words read strange, like pedagogy, but it’s come leaps and bounds from where we used to be. Keep up the awesome work!
I have never written a review in my life, but this app is amazing. The voices are incredibly realistic, and it offers a fantastic collection of books along with the ability to import textbooks. In the future, it would be great if we could buy books directly through the app, whether textbooks or fictional books, similar to how Speechify Books works. The voices are far better than Speechify, NaturalReader, and Voice Dream Reader. I can’t believe it’s free—I’d happily donate.
Don’t know what’s going on but all of a sudden after the recent updates, I can’t login into my account anymore. After my faceid is verified, I would be continuously led back to the login screen. When this app was working, it’s the most natural and convenient I’ve encountered so far. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than most paid ones out there. The many selections of voices are nice, although some voices are better for certain narrations than others. There’s no book marking feature, a timer, or a function where you can teach the app to pronounce certain names. There’s also some indie stories which is nice, but questionable since the grammar and typos in some summaries are pretty spotty. There are times where loading or rendering a file/link would take a while (or not work at all). Sometimes, there would be inconsistent tone of voice, like suddenly whispering when the context doesn’t call for it, or suspense music suddenly turning on with a man’s voice when there was no music ever prior and a female narrator had been selected.
