Real Color Mixer simulates mixing real paints (for example oil or acrylic paints) in different proportions; making it possible to preview the newly created colors without actually mixing the physical paints.
The colors are not mixed additively (which is the process used in RGB color models). However mixing the colors red, green and blue in the Real Color Mixer does not achieve white or black colors. Depending on which tones are used for mixing, you can, for example, get a dark khaki color.
Real Color Mixer uses the spectrum of light and a range of reflected and absorbed light of a given color as mixing information.
Features:
- ability to define up to 12 colors for each palette
- ability to save up to 40 mixed colors for each palette
- ability to find a color mixture for a given color.
- possibility to copy the palette
- database of 430 predefine colors
- ability to set the texture and form of the brush
- edit color name
- calculator function allows you to calculate the amount of component paints to achieve the given amount of mixture. The volume unit can be defined in the settings (litr, fluid ounce, galon, pinta, quarter).
To add a color to the 'mixer color' panel, press the desired color. To change the mixing ratio, use plus (+) or minus (-) buttons. Pressing on the plus or minus buttons increases or decreases the amount of specific color by one unit. Pressing the button slightly longer will change the ratio of the color by 10 units.
To select a color, touch and hold it longer. Additionally in the 'color mixing' panel any selected color will not be included into the mix. Due to this you can check the differences in the mixed specific color without removing the selected color from the list or without setting the amount to 0. By touching a mixed color, you will open a preview dialog where you can read the HTML and RGB values of that mixed color.

Is Real Color Mixer legit?
🤔 The Real Color Mixer app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
This is exactly what I’m looking for expect that there isn’t a paid version so the adds at the bottom cover important text. Ugh. Also, the colors in the color library have names but I can’t see their full name. Also, the color names/references are hard to match with my Liquitex classic set.
Not working anymore
I used when this app works and I have to say was wonderful now it’s not working gives me a message about doesn’t find the color that I’m looking for (136, 0, 170) with basic colors (Y, B, R, B, W)… so sorry
Love this! Just a question
I love this app I use to to prep for my painting projects the only thing I’m confused on is what unit of measurement it uses to calculate? like when you’re selecting a color it says 10 then some percentages …what is the 10?? Grams?? FL ?? I’m just struggling on that but amazing app
Pretty cool, but not enough
I really love the app, but I just want you to add one thing:
The option to add your own colors!
Thanks
Josip M
Great app! Please expand!!
I’m new to oil painting, and thus, am learning how to mix colors. This app has been SO VERY HELPFUL! I love that I can create different pallets, save color mixes, etc. I really wish I could upload a photo and use a dropper to zero in on a color, then the app shows me how to make that specific color. I’m having to use the dropper in my iPhone’s photo editor to get the RGB number, then input that into this app, so the improvement would save me the hassle of jumping back and forth between apps. Overall, though, I love it and I’ll keep using it as I learn! Thank you, creator!
Good but needs more
Suggestions:
- Ability to delete pallets
- Ability to remove colors from pallets
- Ability to make your own colors on the database
- Drawing
Other than that, it’s a pretty fun app
really good but i wanna add
this app is really good but could you add that when you take a picture of something it can make the same color on the palette and tells you what colour used to make the same colour. example: i ran out of a colour for a painting and dont remember what colours i used so i that i picture of the paint and it would show me what color to mix together to get the color i want
Good
I really want to love it, and I do, but I get frustrated with a few things I wish I could add:
• I really wish I could add colors to the database
• More colors allowed in a pallette
• a search function
• a way to mix colors that you have mixed.
Good tool for beginners
It would be really nice if you increase the color limit in pallet.
Overall good app
Five stars
I reviews earlier- but I was mistaken. This is an INCREDIBLE app for paint mixing!!! Kaky
