Worlds and mini games

Can you make it that you can jump further than one block? Can you make it that if you're riding a horse that you can go to the nether while riding the horse? 'Cause now I have to get off the horse push it through the portal then I go into the portal and then I have to board the horse before he goes back through the portal. Can you make nether bricks like normal bricks? Because each brick isn't the same size and it looks really ugly.
