It seems they are storing your personal data even after you delete your account. They were able to identify me when I deleted my old account and created a new one.
No freedom of speech!!!!!!!! This app was once great now is just the shadow of it.
Just horrible, made me remember why I deleted all my social media accounts (facebook, instagram, twitter, etc.). This is arguably even worse. Typical scenario: You can easily get permabanned on a certain community based of an innocent short, non-derogatory comment, made in a joking manner. Next step - a horribly offended and power obssesed moderator sends you a pm notice of permaban on their community, to which you reply with two words: “good riddance”. She gets even more offended and reports your “horribly inappropriate” reply to reddit admins. —> A reddit admin issues you a 3 day general ban on your account with a dire warning of a sitewise permaban in case you would dare to make a different account in the meantime. Argumentation: “harassment”. My summary: Total virtual fascism. Now to the second point, which is the “new” reddit interface, which has been now available for a prolonged ammount of time, however it still feels and acts as an (early) beta. Multiple options are buggy or don’t function alltogether. For example, on “new” reddit interface I wasn’t even able to delete my account and that statement is true both for mobile app and on my pc (firefox browser). On the pc, I wasn’t even able to enter a password in an appropriate field, that’s how buggy the website is. Interestingly, everything worked just perfect after switching back to the old interface (which is not even possible on the mobile app). A slight bright spot are certain communities which are welcoming, grounded and sensible with their rules and sport a very good content. All of the above usually applies to smaller communities only. That’s the only reason I’m a bit sad having to leave this platform. But my moral principles don’t allow me to continue using a badly designed platform with a strong tendency of treating their users in a fascist and hostile manner. Pretty sad.
Do I even need to explain this one? Blocked from posting, told to increase karma by commenting then half my comments get removed because I don’t have enough karma. This has got to be the dumbest system I’ve witnessed in any social media app since I’ve been born lol
first 5minutes i was someone wrote to kill a mockingbird the full thing
You cannot filter words, you cannot access personalised feeds easily, you cannot use mod tools easily either. When you want to post a new message, the last viewed community don’t show, which would be logical. Everything is a little bit of a hassle, slightly annoying, not well optimised. But there is no alternative, is there? You can find another app, if you want to use Reddit ‘not in browser’ you have to settle for their unpractical tool.
Its bad ... real bad ..
The app is utter trash.
When it comes to reddit app it is really bad, I encounter app breaking bug every 15 minutes so I have to restart the app, and I encounter minor bug like every 5 minutes. New awards are also terribly implimented, I accidentally click on them instead of upvote button so many times. Bring back Apollo without financial blackmail.
