## Reimagining the Examen Description
Reimagining the Examen offers a unique prayer experience that’s tailored to your needs and mood. Each Examen, based on St. Ignatius’s 500-year-old prayer, guides you through a stimulating reflection on your day, helping you invite God into your nitty-gritty. Choose an Examen that matches your current state of being, or pray that day’s scheduled reflection.

Reimagining the Examen, created by Loyola Press, is based on Mark Thibodeaux, SJ’s best-selling book, “Reimagining the Ignatian Examen,” which offers flexible and adaptable versions of the Examen. Begin the app experience today to invite grace, gratitude, and insight into your daily life.

What is the Examen?
St. Ignatius of Loyola created the Examen to be a very short prayer that can be prayed at any time. In the Examen, we review our recent past to find God and his blessings in our daily life. Ignatius would say that the Examen should be the most important moment of our day, because this moment affects every other moment.

How Do I Pray the Examen?
There are five simple steps to the Examen, which this app leads you through:

1. Relish the moments that went well and all of the gifts you have today.
2. Request that the Spirit lead you through your review of the day.
3. Review your day.
4. Repent of any mistakes or failures.
5. Resolve, in concrete ways, to live tomorrow well.

## Reimagining the Examen Reviews in United States

### ***-- "Love it - but it has changed"
Great resource and perfect for someone who is just starting with the Examen! I love this app and used to use it all the time. Recently though, the format has changed and the background music (which I loved), is no longer part of the app. Would love it if this feature was brought back!
-- rachellynn63, 2024-12-01

### ****- "What happened to the music?"
Did the new update eliminate the music? Or am I just missing it?
-- JuZo6, 2024-11-09

### *---- "Love it up and down!"
This app is yay! I feel Ignatius coming inside of me. Very spiritual
-- Italian_Oranggutan, 2024-09-30

### *---- "New look and functionality?"
Missed on both.
-- tru Mars, 2024-08-23

### ***-- "Many functions are gone now?"
I really love this app, but when I opened it today it has lost many of the visual features that the app had before. Pictures and background music. Can someone please explain. Thank you and God bless you!
-- Hampstead and Highgate, 2024-07-07

### ***** "What happened to the music?"
Where did the option for music go?
-- -Lombo, 2024-06-27

### ***** "Deeply grateful"
My mind often skitters during prayerful reflection and this app has helped me greatly to focus. Even tempts me to try different options later to reconnect with Him. Thank you very much.
-- htgcs, 2024-03-06

### ***-- "Turning off the music"
Love the app but the music is difficult to change despite touching my choice and it also plays continually, even when the app is closed.
-- Mairin22, 2024-02-25

### ***-- "Nice exercises but…"
There are some lovely variations on the examen here, but I find the exclusively male pronouns for God distracting and very much a barrier.
-- Shaker Heights Eater, 2023-10-17

### ***** "It is the door into a deeper relationship with God"
I tried for years to make the EXAMEN part of my prayer life but could “never find the time”. This leads me through a prayer process I can do anywhere, any time. Waiting in line. Before lunch. It quickly guides me into self-reflection, gratitude, awareness of God’s movement in my life and a desire for a closer relationship. I now put a reminder on my phone and open myself up to grace.
