## Rekt Description
Rekt is a super minimal Safari extension that declutters and de-AMPs the "modern" web. Tired of seeing tons of banners and buttons asking you to use the app or login? Rekt silently, and safely, removes all of them. 

Rekt also automatically redirects AMP links to their correct source website. 


PRIVACY FIRST
---------------
Rekt has been built with a privacy first approach. 

- All the blocking happens on your device with literally ZERO data being recorded or sent back to be data mined. 
- Rekt doesn't keep usage data like the count of how many popups and banners it has blocked or links it has redirected. 
- Rekt doesn't even come with basic app analytics or telemetry to keep track of how many times you've opened or use the app. 
- It does check whether you have dark mode on or not so it can show you the correct tutorial video. (I hate opening a bright video on dark mode as much as you.)

If you're a security researcher, feel free to reach out to me for a license to make sure the app isn't up to anything funky.


DECLUTTER THE "MODERN" WEB
----------------------------------
Currently, it de-clutters and removes most “omfg please use our app” banners and buttons as well as the annoying login popups from:

- Reddit
- Twitter
- Facebook
- Quora
- Instagram
- Imgur

As added bonuses;
- Rekt nukes those infernal AMP links from Google by transparently redirecting you to the correct, canonical link.
- Prevent Quora from asking you to login to just look at an answer. 

Whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Imgur, Quora, or Reddit, everyone wants me, and by extension you, to use their damned apps to consume content. 

Harder for us to block ads and much easier for them to scoop up your data, right? To further that agenda, simply browsing their sites on Safari now means we’re inundated with, well, waves of crap.

Whether it’s a modal covering half the screen with links to the App Store, an immediate popup asking you to login, or a header screaming “the app is 10x better”; it has to go. All of it.

### ***-- "Halfway works"
Tried this today on Reddit. It does hide the “Use app” button, but only visually. If you tap the area it’s at, you still go to the app store. I downloaded this app mostly to avoid those annoying redirects from accidentally tapping that button.

It also introduces a new bug with Reddit that prevents scrolling from working until you tap something on the page. Basically it removed a visual annoyance, but didn’t improve usage in my case. Actually made it a bit more annoying, sadly.

Reddit still asks you to open app, and has many bottom and top pop ups. Reddit also reloads and breaks the site automatically. The solution is to request desktop site view, multiple times, and you get a very broken, unformatted site

Ad-blocking is a constant cat and mouse game where Developers need to make changes frequently. Rekt is a paid app, and you’re at the mercy of the Dev to constantly update it. However, I’ve found that the most stubborn sites break Rekt. Twitter and Reddit are an example. There should be an easier way to contact support directly.

I detest the Google widget banner on the bottom of every search page. I’ve tried other “fixes” and blockers without success. This works. I’ll say it again:

I got this to block websites from asking me to use their App. However, I still get those pop-ups for many sites. I’m not sure if every website has to be manually added, but regardless it does make more to be desired. Additionally, I use Google News and still get AMP URLs instead of the site’s URL. I’ll update my review someday when this App actually does what I paid for it to do. Get AMPlosion instead and Unsmartifier, they’re both way better and actually work. And to the developer, yes it was all setup correctly with all of the correct permissions. You may have 1,000s of happy users, but let’s not forget you posted on Reddit and have many away. I’m a user who is telling you it doesn’t work and therefore I’m not happy. AMPlosion works flawlessly.
