Ive tried so many other japanese learning apps and this one stood out to me. It has game to practice what you learned, and a community tab to chat with others, a question corner under that tab. When you earn coins you can spend it at your personal garden! Overall, very interactive and helpful to remember things!
I’ve been using duo lingo over a year and I feel this app with its unique and quirky graphics, reward system and illustrated learning style is a lot more engaging and educational.
My husband found this app a week ago, and introduced me to it. He’s been learning in his own, and I always find myself having a hard time studying. This app has made it so fun, and I look forward to studying everyday and seeing my little character grow with me!! I also love the game feature as well. I love playing the しりとり game with him as well. Love it!
At first I was using Duolingo but after I told some of my Japanese friends, they told me to use this instead. I deleted Duolingo for this and I don’t regret it!!! I was able to learn Hiragana very well within a week and Katakana within two weeks!! This helped me so much and now I can understand each letter and I plan on leaning kanji next! I just can’t wait to start writing in Japanese and progress even more! I’m always excited to learn because of this app!!
Renshuu is, by far, the best app ever for learning Japanese. It teaches you both formal and casual styles of Japanese and you can customize it to your preference. I was studying on Duolingo for almost 2 years now and it wasn't really getting me anywhere because it was all in textbook style formality and every time it updated it would send my progress wayyyy back which made it really frustrating. Because of Duo I almost gave up on Japanese all together, but thanks to Renshuu I gained back that motivation and love for the language and culture. Renshuu has so many amazing features like all the games to make learning fun, which it does, and you can even contact the creator themselves if you have any problems. Luckily I haven't ran into any, so that's good! It also has a dictionary, which is useful from time to time, and even has an adorable little buddy that grows and evolves as you progress! It also has the cutest art ever! I highly recommend Renshuu for anyone who either wants to learn Japanese or lost motivation but still want to progress further and hopefully gain it back like I did! Have used so many different apps to learn Japanese and I feel like this has been the best one. It is very easy to make flash cards that have a lot of information on it
This app rocks! I was struggling to remember the hiragana and katakana characters until I downloaded this app. It provides a social environment where users share their mnemonic tips. So helpful! With good audio recordings, a fun learning environment with quizzes and gatcha prizes - I highly recommend!
I’ve only seriously gotten into using this app for a few days so I feel like it’s going to take time for me to get used to everything you can do with renshuu but I can already tell it’s going to be one of the most useful tools in my arsenal and especially in terms of phone applications!
Renshuu is the first app I’ve found that I’ve studied consistently from for more than a week. There is so much content and a myriad of ways to study it. I appreciate that the paid portions simply add more to the lessons/games rather than limiting access altogether. As an upper intermediate learner, I struggled to find an app that offered N2 level study in an effective, interactive method. Renshuu has filled that gap. Thank you for creating such a great community-centered Japanese learning site!!
