## Resident Portal Mobile Description
The ResidentPortal app provides a convenient way to pay rent, submit maintenance orders with photos, and communicate with your apartment community all from your mobile phone.

Residents have the ability to pay rent with a single tap, manage one-time or recurring rent payments and receive rent reminder push notifications with the app (see below for a list of key features).
 
Much of the ResidentPortal app is configurable by the property in which you live. Property settings include, but are not limited to, payment methods, payment days, full balance payment requirements, or maintenance request availability.

ResidentPortal App Features:

•  Make a One Time Payment - Easily submit a one time payment with the same trusted payment platform you have always used. 
•  Add/Delete Recurring Payments - Easily schedule new auto-payments ensuring your rent will never be late.
•  Pay by Voice - Allows you to quickly pay rent by searching 'Pay My Rent' from Spotlight Search and linking directly to the make payment screen in the app. 
•  One-Tap Pay - Pay rent with a single tap right from your smartphone. The app remembers your last used payment method and knows your exact balance due.
•  RentNotify - Sends push notifications to your device, reminding you to pay rent.
•  Contact Property - Contact your property directly from the app. The app automatically routes your call to the appropriate after-hours number when the office closes.
•  Submit Maintenance Requests - Submit a maintenance request right from the app. 
•  Take a Picture of the Problem - Use your smart phone's camera to take a picture of the maintenance issue without leaving the app.
•  Inspections - Complete move-in, maintenance, and other inspections right from your mobile device.
•  Reserve Amenities - Schedule amenities at your property.
•  Touch ID Login - After initial setup, securely log in to the app by scanning your finger print.
•  Face ID Login - Authenticate with your face with iPhone X+.
•  3D Touch Support -  Quickly pay rent, submit a maintenance request, or view your balance by tapping and holding the app icon.

My apartment complex recently switched us over to using Resident Portal and so far it seems like a solid app aside from a few things that could added to improve usability such as the ability to add further photos or update information to submitted work orders in the maintenance section. Or even a way to “ping” maintenance for an update on work orders. Also a “Community” option to communicate or meet with other residents in your community to organize events and things.

### **--- "The most basic functions don’t work"
Pro: there’s a lot of features bundled into this one app, it seems.
Con: it’s fails on the most rudimentary basics and is the most buggy experience I’ve ever come across. Eg. Entering a maintenance ticket has thrown some sort of unresolvable error, every time. Most common error “problem description is required” shows up 100%, even with a text description that has any sort of special character removed. 

And last week I got a confirmation of my ticket (heat not working at below freezing outdoor temps) being submitted, only to find out it’s nowhere to be found, on my end nor on the property side. I’m freezing my behind off for a week because of a phantom ticket.

The experience else where (like safari) is not much better, but that’s not relevant here. 

Please hire ONE QA tester, since it seems you don’t have any based on the user experience.

Running the latest iOS version and version of this app as of this review, yet again Accessability using VoiceOver has been broken. The payment portal is now broken for voiceover users. Selecting your payment type, entering a note, and selecting a payment option are now not accessible. Three weeks ago it was. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it! This app worked three weeks ago and now with the latest update, you have made the app worse! I just want to pay my rent like everybody else.

### *---- "Accessibility issues with latest version of resident portal app."
I am running iOS 18.1.1 with the VoiceOver screen reader. There are a number of issues with the payments tab in resident portal using a screen reader. First, I attempt to double tap the expand button for the payment methods selector. This gesture for a blind or low vision user does not work. Furthermore, I have to turn on Screen, recognition and image recognition for the Apple Pay and money order options to even be visible with voiceover. Note, that these issues started with the adoption of the new one tap payment system. Likewise, I double tap the other payment amount button to key in a custom value, And this cannot be selected using the typical voiceover gesture either. I contacted customer service and was told that no support was provided for residence, even though accessibility in the ability to pay rent independently are essential functions. There should be a system in place to reach a developer if accessibility issues arise. Do better, Entrata. This was working correctly in the previous version, and I do not understand why accessibility had to be broken with the latest addition. Also, if I double tap the memo button to add a payment note, the screen is not read off at all, and the keyboard does not appear.

Fix your plaid connection. The amount of times I’ve had to reconnect my account with plaid is crazy, just for it to not connect, give me an error message, & it’s already connected. Then when I try again, it says there’s a plaid error & to reconnect.
I know it’s a third party, but you can work out the terms of how long bank accounts stay connected.

Regularly when we have a maintenance issue, the app just refuses to work. You enter all the information and then a description of your problem i.e., "icemaker is leaking". You hit "submit", and the app keeps telling you "description is required".

This means that your work order cannot be generated. This happens very often with this app. If it weren't for residents being forced to use this app, I don't think anyone would ever use it.
