## RetroLab Description
RetroLab is an AUv3 vintage effects processor that blends the character of classic hardware with the flexibility of modern sound design. Inspired by gramophones, tape decks, and worn analog circuits, RetroLab lets you recreate the warmth, instability, and imperfections of vintage recording.

From subtle coloration to full sonic destruction, RetroLab is built for experimentation. Shape your sound with a collection of 18 creative modules designed to add movement, texture, and character to any source. Whether you’re adding gentle tape warmth or diving into chaotic modulation, RetroLab gives you complete control over your signal—turning clean audio into something alive, imperfect, and uniquely yours.


Modules include:

NOISE: Adds authentic analog-style noise, from subtle hiss and hum to heavy vinyl crackle, bringing realism and depth to your signal.

GLITCH: Introduces rhythmic interruptions, stutters, and digital instability for unpredictable, broken textures.

WOW & FLUTTER: Emulates the pitch instability of aging tape machines, adding movement, drift, and organic modulation.

PHASER: A classic modulation effect that adds sweeping, phase-shifted motion—from subtle shimmer to deep, swirling tones.

DISTORT (Overdrive / Distortion): From gentle saturation to aggressive distortion, add harmonic richness and grit to your sound.

TAPE TRANSPORT: Simulates the mechanical behavior of tape systems–speed changes, slow-downs, dropouts, and transport-style artifacts

CRUSHER: Degrades your signal for lo-fi digital character, from vintage sampler tones to harsh digital artifacts. 

FILTER MORPH: A characterful, vintage-inspired filter that shapes and sculpts your sound with smooth, musical response. From subtle tonal balance to resonant sweeps and driven coloration, it brings the movement and warmth of classic analog circuitry into RetroLab.

AIR DELAY: A spatial delay effect that adds depth and atmosphere. 

ATMOSPHERE: Generates ambient reverberating textures and tonal layers that enhance mood and create immersive sonic environments.

TAPE TRANSPORT: Simulates the mechanical behaviour of tape systems, speed changes, slow-downs, dropouts.

GATE: Shapes dynamics and rhythm by cutting or sculpting the signal, from tight control to creative gating effects. 

RESONATOR: A musically-aware feedback resonator that turns any audio into a playable, evolving harmonic instrument.

CLOUDSEED: CloudSeed is a dense, modulated algorithmic reverb based on the CloudSeed engine.

App crashes on my IPad Pro inside using it inside Camelot Pro. Bug fixes should be done before its release unless you don’t have need for to service IOS customers. As of now the app is useless to me.

After watching a demo of this plug-in on YouTube about a week ago, I was really interested in RetroLab. After the whole pricing issue with the App Store was resolved, I was optimistic. But I’m having the same problems like many others - crashes iPhone /iPad when I use AUM.  I’ve never purchased an app from 4Pockets, but the developer seems to have a good rep.  So, I’m giving 4Pockets the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully, the issue with AUM compatibility is resolved. Would like to experiment with the sounds others were getting! 🤞iPhone 12 Pro Max | 26.5 iOS

30 May 2026:  Yes, Paul.  I know this was an Apple App Store issue and I did say that on the 25th of May.  I am glad your RetroLab app is back in the store with a new updateand from what I have tested it seems to be working fine on my iPad Pro 12.9” Gen 3 and Gen 5 devices.  Glad this finally got straightened out for you.  Time to tinker.

25 May 2026: Well it appears that there are rotten 🍏 issues on the App Store.  The price of this app as reported on AppRaven has cycled back and forth at least 9 times now between $14.99 and $$7.99.  I jumped out to the App Store and it is doing the same thing, so the problem is in Appleland somewhere.   Pressing on the AppStore’s blue $7.99 shows it coming up as $14.99 and visa versa.  Finally caught it when it said $7.99 (I hope … but, I am still going to check the Apple receipt).  Good luck to all those also attempting to jump on the $7.99 sale price.

I’ll re-write and rate the app more appropriately when this anomaly is resolved.  Thanks Paul for trying to tame the feral 🍏.
