This is a companion app for use with the Return to Dark Tower board game. Gather your warriors, complete epic quests, and assault the Tower to defeat evil once and for all. The app controls the mechanical Tower via wireless connection, runs the virtual battle system, and manages quests and events. (This is not a standalone game.)

### ***** "Appeasing, anticipation, teamwork"
I grew up playing the original Dark Tower game. In comparison, these are two distinct, very separate games. 

What the creators of this game did was take some core parts of the original game, dream up a new, better, and different version that includes co-op and competitive, tons of scenarios to play, and more. They really added what the OG was missing. Please note that the OG game came out ages ago where technology was vastly different, so it’s still extraordinarily amazing in its own way. 

I love the game. Idk if the app is made by the same people, I’m assuming it is, but what a wonderful idea that you made real. I see the passion in it!!

### ***** "Fantastic addition to the game"
I love this and the integration with the game is stunning! I have gobbled up all the expansions to marvel at them and am working up slowly to playing them.

I have some suggestions to offer:

Add a player counter, or better yet name entry. The status screen shows month and turn, but I kept recounting to confirm who is the next player. As it just continues through the cycle, showing player feels easier than keyboard entry.

Side note: is the skull drop to end turn the very last thing the current player does, and any events refer to the next player?

Sometimes I found back arrow was not always there, and seemingly not in logical places where return to previous state was impossible. We had a monster placement and my friend flew through the screen about where to place it. Not a huge deal, we picked a—cough, favorable placement, cough—and moved on. But either more thorough back support (and I don’t mean lumbar here) or a way to view past messages would help.

Another time a player started on the wrong monster type for attacking. Easy enough to do, but hard to recover from, or at least I could not figure it out.

The game is just amazing and everyone I show it to loves it. Some are advancing with me to more complex scenarios. I know many surprises await me.

Quick notes: I love the haggle die and the treasure which keeps the merchant face from blocking reinforce. Brilliant fun. And I love the varied banner actions. And the extra skulls in case one is lost. I love it all, and those features jump out.

Restoration Games is a Master class on doing it right, if my shelf of their products is any indication. I love the expansion support for all of them, and Thunder Road I am nodding at you here. Bravo and vroom, vroom!

If you are taking requests, Milton Bradley had older land, sea, and air battle games (Mission command). I’d love to see what the team could do with that. Or MB Dogfight.

### ***** "Faster to learn than you’d think"
I expected this to take ages to learn given how many moving parts there are. But we were up and running in under an hour, and the group (ages nine to 54) was playing without having to check the rule book in less than two hours. It’s complex but surprisingly intuitive. 

Of course the real joy for the GenX parents was the Tower, now doing everything you wish your toy from 1984 could do. Including the old start up noise was genius. 

The app-driven element was seamless and flawlessly executed. 

All around a 10/10 experience!

I have the original game from when I was a kid. The game is much more technologically advanced. It’s a very exciting game and with the mini figures it really stands out. The tower spins and lights up. It even spits skulls out at you. The app keeps track of almost everything else except your character. The game is really well done and thought out. The tower sits in the middle of the board and is very menacing. All-in-all an excellent game.

### *---- "No undo for the final battle step."
We wanted to retreat from the final battle card of the game. We accidentally pressed the confirm button twice, instead of once, triggering game end. Because there is no undo button for that, we wasted hours of play to not be able to see the end of our game. Unacceptable. Don’t make an app-based game if you don’t know how to account for accidental input.

### ****- "A few tweaks would make this perfect for me"
First things first, this game is AMAZING. The app makes the experience smooth, and adds a lot to the unpredictability of what is going to happen between turns. I love it!

There are two things I want to bring up that would take the app all the way to a five for me:

1. COVENANT EXPANSION TWEAK
We played it with the Covenant expansion last night for the first time. It was super fun, but we made a mistake that we couldn’t reverse. We were so excited to get three Offerings on a building that we immediately built it in the app. We then checked the rules again and realized that you have to go to that space and perform the “Build” action before you add the building to the app and start using it. So we went back to the buildings screen and held the button down to remove the building, which DESTROYED it. That building was lost to us for the rest of the game, with no way to undo the mistake we had made. There needs to be a way for the players to be able to course correct if they did the wrong thing by accident. 

2. GARBAGE WEASEL QUEST
For this mission you have to perform the “Quest” action on a space to try to find the informant. In the description for the quest it says something like, “Check for rumors in villages, citadels, and bazaars.” We checked every one of those buildings, all we got were “Dead End” screens. No rumors. No hints. No help at all. After checking a few more random spaces (leaving all other tasks behind to try to find this guy), we gave up and started spamming the engine, checking every single space in the app to see if it glitched or something. We finally find him halfway down the list, on a random location in the middle of the board. 

A couple of thoughts crossed my mind here:

A. Were we supposed to get a “rumors” screen somewhere in there? Something that says, “He was last seen in the North” or something like that? If so, this mission is bugged and needs to be fixed.

B. If this is working as intended, I’d recommend taking this mission back and making some tweaks to it. There are 60 spaces on the board where you can “Quest” and only 40-ish turns that the players can take in the whole game. Even if they abandoned everything else (killing monsters, cleansing corruption, doing monthly quests), they still might never find the guy. It was very deflating to try at about 15 different locations without so much as a breadcrumb. 

One of the best things about this game is that it’s TOUGH but FUN. This mission wasn’t fun, it was just tedious, and we

### ***** "Great game to play, needs tutorials."
This is a great game, I have been making sure to show everyone I can, the game and be able to try it out themselves. The hardest part of explaining the rules is trying to describe how battling foes and questing in dungeons work, along with how you utilize your advantages. I wish there was a tutorial part that lets you show an example on the app how these aspects work without having to start a full game. This is my only suggestion. I stress again I love this game and am trying to get as many people that I can to try it. Those aspects and the advantage system is the first I’ve seen so I’m not use to describing how they work. I would like a tutorial section that you could pick without having to connect to the tower so I can visually show how battles and dungeon diving works in game. This I feel would help bring in more players to the game. I love that the rest of the game is fairly straight forward. I start off my explanation by stating it’s a cooperative game and the three ways to lose. Then go over what you can do on your turn. Most people who at least play games in some form grasp these right away. Looking forward to covenant expansion.
