Work began on this translation in the year 2000, and the first edition of the New Testament was released and printed in 2013. Both the Old Testament and New Testament were published online in 2015. And currently, work is being done to update the whole Bible for a second edition. The Bible is titled the Revised English Version because it is a translation of the ancient texts into English, and yet while it has much in common with other modern English versions, it also has significant differences. We also have included helpful tutorial videos to help you understand all the features of the REV Bible app. POWERFUL FREE BIBLE STUDY TOOLS * Keep your own study notes and highlights in a MyREV user account * Study over 1,000 pages of Bible commentary (just tap a verse if the verse number is red) * Read in-depth Topical Appendices and Word Studies * Navigate using the quick “enter a verse” jump menu * Search using our robust search feature * Customize your Bible reading experience with a vast array of preferences like “light on Dark Theme,” different font options, customizable font sizes, line height, etc. The REV is designed to be a more literal translation whenever the literal rendering can be accurately reflected and understood in modern English vernacular. However, there are times when the REV has departed from a strictly literal translation in order to make good sense of English. Strictly literal translations can be more difficult than helpful at times as the mechanics of Greek and Hebrew differ dramatically from English. In addition to grammatical and syntactical differences, idiomatic expressions are rarely cross-lingual as well. In any translation, the objective is to communicate the meaning of the original language in the receptor language. Thus, a more optimal equivalence methodology is employed in the REV. We hope and pray that the REV Bible app will further your relationship with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. I have finally found the bible version and commentary that teaches the truth. The truth about God, Jesus, and the Kingdom. The commentary is thoroughly researched, detailed, and referenced. My knowledge and confidence in understanding scripture is increasing beyond measure! -- 🌺Deborah🌺, 2026-03-28 ### ***** "Finally a historically accurate Bible translation!" The commentary and historical accuracy of this Bible app is top notch. The people that made this clearly put a lot of time and effort into it! -- dan71888, 2025-01-15 ### *---- "Agenda Driven Translation" Was hoping for a more “unadorned” translation, only to find out that this version exists to fortify the anti-Trinitarian theology of the sect that created it. It’s never good to use a translation that was produced by a single organization with idiosyncratic views. -- War_El, 2025-01-12 ### ****- "I enjoy the translation." My biggest problem is I wished it was accessible offline. I sometimes do not have have internet in bible study or church I attend. Other than that I love the translation and really appreciate the translation and the app. -- Wademach, 2023-07-31 ### ***** "Truthfully honest translation" This is a breath of fresh air. The best commentary I’ve ever read. It’s relayed without the dogmatic bents of most versions, incredibly accurate to the original writings, and stunningly easy to maneuver whether you are a scholar or simply a truth seeker. I’ve been through seminary, a pastor for years, and a Christian for decades. Having waded through muck and mire of religious texts for half my life, I hold that this is a gift to genuinely know our father as I never knew I could. By the way, His name is YHWY. Nice to meet you - finally. Thank you STF! -- Mtnmods, 2023-03-09 ### ***** "Really Good" I really like this translation because it feels original and that I can easily tell just by reading it that there was a lot of work put into this Bible. -- belong_to_Christ, 2021-06-22 ### ***** "Great commentary" I somehow accidentally came across the commentary and I’m glad I did! -- MYoj71989, 2021-04-11 ### ***** "best translation and commentary today" I was King James only, then read ESV awhile, and read many other versions on Biblegateway, now REV is the best imho. -- FROG PUSH HUG, 2019-09-01 ### *---- "Not working" The app is really great and organized well, but it is currently not working. Every time I open it and click to change the book, the screen goes white and I’m unable to do anything. I really hope it gets fixed so I can read this awesome translation! -- sra14131, 2019-06-26 ### ***** "Love this!" So user-friendly & I love that the commentary gives such deep insight into Why particular words & concepts are translated the way they are. -- apricotspeakes, 2018-05-10 [View all REV Bible App reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## REV Bible App Store Rankings | Chart | Country | Category | Rank | |-------|---------|----------|------| | Top Free | Singapore | Reference | #169 | ## REV Bible App Discovered Keywords -
