Revolut — teen finance

The money app for teens

Published by: Revolut

Description

Revolut is the money app designed to spend, save, and set money aside.
What's in store:
• Get your own customisable debit card and virtual cards to add to your Apple or Google Wallet (personalisation fees may apply)
• Send money between friends on Revolut (minimum age restriction applies)
• Receive money from everyone — even if they’re not on Revolut — with Payment Links
• Save and earn with a Savings account
• Get a 360º view of your money with Analytics
• If you’re in the UK, you can move to the main app once you turn 16

How does it work?
1. Download this app and create an account (if you're below the age of data consent, your parent will need to create an account for you from their Revolut app. You can check the age of data consent in your country below)
2. Get approved by your parent or guardian
3. Choose a debit card and customise it with text, stickers, and your own sketches (personalisation fees may apply), then order it from your parent's app
4. Add your card to Apple or Google Wallet to start spending straight away (minimum age restriction applies)

Parents and guardians, this part's for you ↓
With Revolut, they can manage their money independently, under your supervision.
Teens above the age of data consent can sign up themselves, but you'll have access to security controls, like spending notifications, in-app card freezes, and many other features to give you peace of mind.
If you have teens below the age of data consent, you can create an account for them from your Revolut app. Here’s how:

1. Have them download this app and create an account
2. Approve their account from your Revolut app
3. Order their prepaid debit card from your app (personalisation fees may apply)

This app is so great it gives kids like me a bit of independence and it would be so annoying to have to wait until you’re 18 to get Revolut so thank you so much for making this app!

so easy to use.

Revolut has helped me out so much thank you and the reason I’m writing this is beacause I’m just a chill guy you…

Revolut clearly has a huge security issue and will do nothing to help it’s consumers.

Revolut kids is a great app for all the usual reasons. However, it offers absolutely no support when something has gone wrong. My card details were stolen seemingly out of nowhere and I had received absolutely no support from revolut. The only place you may receive support is on the revolut +18 app. Nowhere on the website does it offer even an email to contact. This may not seem like such a big issue for parents with younger children. However, with older teenagers and them having the capacity to sort things out themselves, I find it shocking that <18 offers no FAQ nor chat support. I have come back to this draft after receiving a new debit card, and the issue is still the same: There are people with my info and again revolut offers no support. It was only for the fact that I had not activated my card did I get a refund for the attackers purchases. It’s shocking that revolut doesn’t have any 2FA verification system that would require you to confirm your purchase through the app as regards to online purchases. At the very least through suspicious devices or IP’s. I will emphasise that I do not save my debit card info anywhere, yet here we are again. Revolut clearly has a huge security issue and will do nothing to help it’s consumers.

It’s such an amazing app for going into town and it’s so handy and an easy way to start saving if your not very good at it like me I would really recommend this app I would like to suggest though that this app can be used offline because I hate when I’m in town and don’t have money for a bus or to buy smt and I ask my dad to send me over some money on Revolut and it doesn’t send through because I don’t have any internet so if that is possible I would appreciate it Over all such a good app for kids and teens to start learning about saving money and spending it to !!
