Honestly, for $17 Canadian that’s a little expensive for what you guys offer. I’ll stick to my prime, my Paramount and my Netflix. It’s just not worth it for what you’re offering it. Plus it’s slow and you can’t watch off-line. Hopefully if you guys change some of that stuff, I’d be happy to add you to my list that I paid for every month but as it stands now no. Reading through the comments it’s sad to see a lot of people have some of the same complaint I do, and some of them were from two years ago to now
We were stuck with satellite tv due to inferior rural internet. Now have fabulous Star Link so dropped our satellite provider and trying River for the free trial offer. We are not high tv watchers so it has most of the channels that we need and the on demand feature is good. Still need another subscription for sports networks. We never watch CBC so in my opinion could dump those for better offerings like a sports feature. We will make a decision about whether we continue or go with an internet TV provider for live tv (which would give us everything we would watch) and forgo the on demand feature. Still a cheaper option than Shaw Direct satellite.
Works great with Google devices, but not with Apple TV - have to restart Apple TV to get some shows on the guide to play. Otherwise it will just say “not available”.
Can u cast to your tv off your phone
I subscribed to River TV for access to CBC and CBC Newsworld. Now that they are no longer part of the River TV offerings, not much sense in keeping it!
iPhone plays the great content but I want to cast onto my TV and the icon doesn’t come up… the app has contradicting information that it should be ready and Chromecast is “coming soon” as of 2020.
I want to like RiverTV, but the quality of the service is subpar at best. There is constant buffering, on demand shows don’t start (server error), and customer service/ support is nonexistent (no email address or phone number available). I get zero buffering issues with Netflix, AppleTV+, FibeTV app, Amazon Prime with the highest video quality setting available (4K Dolby Visin and Dolby Atmos). These problems indicate that the issues I’m experiencing are RiverTV related. Perhaps they have run out of bandwidth and don’t bother upgrading their servers.
I have this app on Apple TV and 2 phones. For some reason Apple TV never plays I get a message there’s a problem they are tying to fix. On demand works. On one phone works fine, the other won’t log in. When I log in online with browser it says I don’t have a subscription. I’m so confused as to how to manage this ap through Apple. Inconsistent service across Apple devices and about to give up.
Both channels haven’t worked for months. You get an error and sometimes saying your providers trial has ended. So you pay for channels you don’t get. Ripoff.
