Well the dashcam itself is fine, but the app is unusable. Trying to view a video is impossible as it always scrolls back too fast and too far. I end up taking the SD card out and putting it into tablet if I need a video file. Next time I’m in the market for a dashcam, based on the app alone I would not purchase one again from Road Angel.

This is probably the worst app I have ever had.
I’m sure a primary school kid could do better.
Log onto the camera. You get a screen showing current view which is needed as doesn’t have a screen. Trying to find a prerecorded video is difficult. There doesn’t seem to be a fast forward or rewind option. It takes random screen shots.
I’ve still not worked out how to use it properly and had it 3 months.
The home page is pathetic. Has current view at top then underneath has some screenshots.
There are no instructions and it isn’t self explanatory.

If I had the app before, I wouldn’t have bought the camera.

I purchased the road angel Halo Ultra and it’s a great little camera. Definition is pin sharp and it’s one of those rare devices that are just transparent to you. They are there doing their jobs and you don’t need to worry.

However the app has lost sight of the reason we have a dash cam. To get footage to a phone or lap top quickly and efficiently and seamlessly so you can blame the other idiot.

Viewing via a pc, I can see the footage is stored in one minute files but getting those files onto your phone is not as straight forward as it should be.

Currently I want a clip from yesterday where someone simply walked in front of the car and I nearly hit them. I know the time and when I go to that near time slot (I can’t get to it directly the app allows 2:03 or 2:33, the event happened at 2:20 ish) once i start downloading the image I get a time lapsed version. Which is no good to me because the detail is lost. 

The software should, first and foremost allow me to go straight to a time. Then allow me to select five minutes either side of the event and then produce the relevant footage I may need to present to the police, insurance company etc.

Please focus on that.

The camera is great but let down by a shonky phone app.

What a waste of money!!!!!!! The camera itself is made of the flimsiest plastic and has no built in screen! So you’d think the app would be so good that the missing screen was not a problem!!!! You couldn't be more wrong!!! The app is a total waste of time!!!!! It never works. It crashes ALL the time!!!! I cannot watch any of the files or real time footage!!! How can this company still not have sorted out a working app despite the 1 star app rating!!!!!!!!!! I’ll go back to Nextbase thanks! You should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!!!!!!

After spending nearly £500 on cameras for myself and my wife’s car, the app to use the cameras is by far the worst user interface I’ve ever experienced. You guys really need to rethink your whole app and make it actually usable. Not being able to select a drive cycle and having to “swipe left” to view a timeline of recordings which may or may not have recorded is baffling. Why can’t there be a simple “saved drive”

Wish I’d have saved the money and got cameras off Amazon, don’t waste your money on this expensive junk

Bought this in 2018, a couple of weeks later I was rear ended. Camera files downloaded, brilliant. No probs with insurance as proof.

Did not use app until transferred to new car. Camera not showing on app and cannot connect via wifi. 

Tried camera update firmware to the letter. Still not connecting or updating!!!!!!!!!!

Was good, now rubbish.
