The worst gig app
New to handle more orders
We have now gotten to the point where drivers need more control over what they are willing to deliver and when. Some drivers prefer small items like prescriptions and some prefer larger items like TVs. There’s no way on the app to filter your preferences or even get notifications for your preferences. It would also be good to filter based on offer amount. Depending on where you live, the map gets overloaded with overlapping bubbles and you can’t click the ones you want fast enough. I would even like a way to auto submit on my preferences . Just like a bot (if you’re coming from Spark or Flex, you know what I mean).
After working for Rodie for quite some time I have to say I disagree with a lot of the reviews. This is a metric performance based app. That being said you will most likely ( depending on your area) have prove your worth with lower paying gigs at first. The ones no one wants. I agree that it’s frustrating at first because you feel like you’re not getting the higher paying jobs, but if you stick with it, complete your delivery’s with excellent CS, don’t cancel gigs after you excepted them, and don’t waist time it will come. Every area is different as are the gig opportunities in that area. Also your what you drive will make a big impact. Larger will have the potential for larger pay but larger expenses. Lastly I’ll say I’ve worked most apps out there and this is by far my favorite. It’s very learnable and with time you will figure it out but their is a learning curve ( where the work is, load sizes, distances, terrain, all of which are very important to be successful.
getting started on the app as far as getting gigs, is a little worrisome at first. Just because there aren’t normally a lot of gigs available as a new worker. But once I did three or four, it seems like the app has been giving me the opportunity to accept a lot more gigs.. Meaning when I first started, I would get maybe two or three a week. But as I accepted those, the available gigs became more abundant. I’m now have the option of doing Roadie all day long if I wanted to. I will say that when I first started doing Roadie. It seemed like the gigs that were available, were better paying gigs than what I see now.. Not to say that the gigs aren’t worth it now. It just seems like the really hard paying ones have become kind of rare.. Now talking about the pay, they do have “instant” pay after you complete a certain amount of deliveries. It isn’t very instant from what I can tell.. Normally about three hours after cashing out., The money will be available to you. But overall, I will say that the app is a well structured app, and I can’t recall any times that the app has been buggie, or non-responsive. It’s very informative and they make it easy to understand. So if you’re looking to make a little extra money , give it a shot. There’s nothing to lose in trying. And if you’re a Dasher, deliver a couple roadie orders in the slow times. Just go for it. download it.
Before ups purchased this app you could make 6 figures easily before taxes. Now good luck if you make 100 in a day .
This is one of the more low paying gig apps, close to a minimum wage job after you factor in manual labor, using your vehicle and gas money.
Can’t ever get a good paying order due to the algorithm and orders get cancelled once I arrive at location
It’s a OK app but my biggest problem with it is that you can’t pick up multiple gigs at once it’s very frustrating when the gigs are all in the same direction and you have to make the trip for $30 instead of picking up all the orders And make 180
