I really liked the Robinhood gold card, and planned to use it for some big purchases. Unfortunately, if you make a purchase, then immediately pay off your balance, you can be stuck with that payment processing for a week! I feel they do this intentionally to promote paying from Robinhood banking or brokerage accounts (which are faster), but once a payment is processing, it’s stuck! I can’t cancel it or try to pay from other sources, basically making my card useless for a week after a big purchase

I really want to like Robinhood Gold Banking because there are some genuinely great benefits, but right now the product feels unfinished—especially for customers who keep significant assets with Robinhood.

The biggest positive is the 3% cashback on the Robinhood Gold Card. That is an excellent rewards rate, but there is a major catch: to get the full value of your rewards, you basically have to redeem them into your Robinhood brokerage account. If you redeem them as a statement credit, the redemption value is significantly worse and effectively knocks the 3% cashback down to around 2%. That feels unnecessarily misleading. A 3% cashback card should let you redeem your rewards at full value regardless of whether you choose brokerage deposits or statement credits.

The credit limits are also way too low. My original limit was $10,000, which I maxed out multiple times. After roughly four months, Robinhood automatically increased it to $13,000, but that is still far too low for my spending. There is also no real way to request a higher limit. Customer service simply tells you that increases are handled automatically, leaving customers with no way to ask for a manual review.

The banking side also still has some major missing features. There is no Zelle, which makes sending money unnecessarily difficult and is one of the main reasons I still need to maintain another bank account.

International wire transfers were also advertised/promised but are STILL not available. Getting cash into and out of the account can also be much more difficult than it should be.

What frustrates me the most is that I have over $100,000 with Robinhood, which qualifies me for Premier Banking, yet several of the Premier features that were promoted are still unavailable—including cash delivery and international wire transfers. If Robinhood is going to market a premium banking experience, those features need to actually exist.

Another major issue is that there is no proper website where you can access your banking statements or review your full transaction history. For a product being marketed as Premier Banking, that is honestly unacceptable. Basic banking functions like downloading statements and reviewing account activity should not be limited to an app. This makes recordkeeping, accounting, and managing the account much more difficult than it needs to be.

There are definitely some things they got right. The 3% cashback is fantastic if you redeem it correctly, out-of-network ATM fee
