If this app can’t find your billing address, for example a PO Box, to autofill then you cannot place an order. Very frustrating given that you spent time placing the order only to find out afterwards that you can’t place an order due to this issue
When the Roots app works, it works well!
I’d like to give the app 4 1/2 stars because the app seems to work 90% of the time. It’d be great to get functionality up to 95% so I could round y’all up to 5 stars!

Love the food, dislike the app
For starters, as I was placing an online order for pick up, I redeemed my $5 off and the screen glitched and took away my $5 discount and my reward offer right in front of my eyes!
Another issue is that there’s no easy way to contact anyone from the app based on order issues.
Additionally, it won’t let me use a gift card if my total exceeds it (which is super annoying, I just want to use up my gift card and pay the rest on my card which it currently doesn’t allow)
Also when you order in person there is no way to scan your app to earn points.
Hopefully these issues will be fixed soon!
Over complicated online process
When I walk in why can’t there be an available kiosk to take my order and payment and schedule time of pick up. Apologies for not being tech savvy college students. We also enjoy real food. Thank you
Payment options malfunctioning
I have a gift card that the app won’t accept but when I follow the QR code on the back of the card, it tells me it’s fully loaded and has funds available. I switched over to using Apple Pay and it declined. I manually entered in the exact same credit card as my Apple Pay card and it took it. Frustrating to have to exhaust so many options for payments, shouldn’t you want my money?
Can't order kids bowls
Nearly every week my friends and I place a roots order for takeout. My friends pick up the food for everyone and bring it to my house. I have two young kids. I just want to be able to order them small, less expensive bowls of food! One of them is eats literally just chicken on rice, and not much of it. If I were to bring him in, I could get a free small bowl- perfect! On the app, there's no reasonable way to order this, even for a normal kids meal price. I have to get him an adult bowl with just chicken for $13.50 so he can eat his 4 bites of food. If I didn't want to order for them every week, this would be less of an issue, but we are regular customers... Half the benefit of grabbing takeout is not bringing the kids in! Please add a kids menu on the app and keep it free in-store!
Minor note, I was very confused when trying to order these few ingredient bowls for my kids that it kept saying I had to "choose at least 4" to place my order. It turns out that this did not mean 4 ingredients, it meant I hadn't picked a dressing. There is no way to actively select "no dressing," but apparently the solution is to go into the dressing and hit save without selecting anything. This is really unclear.
Lots of Random Errors
I always have to place my order multiple times. The payment portion sometimes gives me random user not found or better “I’d doesn’t match, user not staff” messages?!?
Buggy
Didn’t work with Apply Pay, just wouldn’t move forwards. It took two tries to pay with CC.
