The Round Timer was the first round/sparring/boxing timer available in the AppStore and, as a result, the most refined and stable. Don't be fooled by knock-offs (other developers copying our interface and layout). 

The Round Timer is a convenient round/boxing/sparring timer for your iPhone/iPod touch, now compatible with iOS 8.  The Round Timer is a fully functional round/sparring timer that allows you to customize the length of the rounds, warning bell and resting period.  Each of these intervals can be configured separately up to an hour. It will run in the background even if you switch to another App. 

With the sound themes, you can choose which alarm sounds to use: boxing/MMA, a relaxing Zen theme, and a few others. Don't like any of the dozens of preinstalled sounds? Don't worry! You can record your own sounds.

For large, loud environments you can plug your device into a stereo, or for small sessions put it in the corner of the mat.  The Round Timer is great for any sparring or interval training: boxing, MMA, grappling / bjj, martial arts, yoga, meditation, crossfit, exercise, workout, stretching, etc.

Working out to music is not a problem. Start your music playing in the iPod app, then start RoundTimer. The sounds will play over top of your music without interrupting it.

### *---- "10/10 do not recommend"
It lowers the volume if the app is running a time. Which is a useless function and makes the experience worse. 

Because you have to raise the volume all the way up to hear your music.  And that causes the round counter noise to be obnoxiously loud and when the program stops your music is blaring. 

The fix would be to only lower the volume of your music when the round buzzer is making noise. 

But this flaw ruins the experience and makes me not want to use this app

This used to be a 5 star app for our kickboxing studio. The music used to turn off in between rounds when that option was selected. Now, even when you turn that feature on and save your preferences it still plays. Any fix to this and it will be 5 stars!

I have tried other similar apps but none provide what this one does - a simple, yet flexible way to get an app set up for timing intervals of any sort. I much prefer it over anything else I have sampled.

Okay have had this for a few years and its ridiculously amazing for .99. I'd give this app 11 stars if they would integrate the option to use the touch screen as a start/stop button again. Have a small group that gets together to train in Brazilian jiu jitsu and various striking styles. If we don't wear gloves the thing is perfect, otherwise it's quite a nuisance to take off gloves or mitts to pause or what have you. Used to just use my nose to avoid the hassle. Not sure why it was taken away I've never had an issue with it when it did work. Thanks for an amazing simple app minus the 1% hiccup.

I want to get back to hitting my bags after years off. Mostly for a good cardio but also to keep my reflexes sharp. It dawned on me that there might be timer apps for my iPhone. Sure enough there are. I downloaded some free apps to try and they were ok but either I couldn't fine tune the rounds to the seconds or if I could the graphics weren't appealing. And you couldn't save your workout info.  Finally I purchased this one which does it all. Great interface, easy to use with many sounds and fine tuning of times and the ability to name and save your workout plan. I plan on slowly increasing the duration as I progress and this allows me to do that. For .99 you can't beat it. Highly recommend and there are many other uses besides the one I am interested in I'm sure. Thanks for a great app

Tabata timer already avail., but can be modified and you can creat and save your own timer set ups. So I usually use the timer while listening to music, however, I never know what round it is, because I'm more focused on exerting as much into my workouts during round and rest during breaks than I am trying to keep track of what round I am in. It would be nice if the audio would announce the current round at the beginning of each one. The muse workout app does this. For example, at the beginning of round 5 a voice should say "Round 5.". Please?!?

### *---- "Used to be great! Now very bad."
Since they added the presets feature this app has become almost unusable for me.
It never remembers what my last used timer setup was so every time I open the app it defaults to some random preset that I've never used.
Since the preset box takes up so much room the rest time is not viewable without scrolling down which is very annoying.
Currently looking for a replacement for this app.
