Why is it called archiving and not just “rejecting a request”? Why do all new requests from the same owner appear in separate chats and not the same chat? If something happens with pet and you need an urgent advise how to act, that pet would die faster than they help you. Also it is always very messy in support. You have to wait for a days and weeks to figure out your question. They switching you to other consultants with every message you send them and new consultants often don’t know what the conversation was before. And the customer service is atrocious, they shift blame from the app and are unknowledgeable. -- Nickname69kkekek, 2024-10-16 ### ***-- "Marketing Genius or Deliberately Misleading" This comment is about Rover management and how they’ve designed Pet Clients to by in large only give 5 stars for Rover’s selected feedback criteria, fabricating only happiness and perfection; and not specifically about the app or the service providers within this app. Specifically, after one has given their written feedback, they’re then forced into giving responses on Rover’s controlled statements; otherwise feedback cannot be given and/or a tip left for the service provided. Following “your” written feedback they force additional responses that largely will only ever result in 5 stars for their money earners. They do this by forcing you to state a predetermined problem if you give anything less than 5 stars in any of their predetermined categories, effectively forcing one to commit to something negative even though there wasn’t maybe anything material, but it just also wasn’t “5” stars. For example, after say a 30 minute walk of which the client was not a part of, you either state you explicitly trust your walker with everything that could ever happen with your dog/cat, or you have to commit to one or more of a series of predetermined statements as to why you don’t. This is the case for every one of their forced feedbacks. It tells me that all those 5 stars that all the walkers and caregivers seemingly have - have maybe been given because anything less is a hassle and conundrum for the client as to whether it’s worth stating a deficiency for something that probably just hasn’t had the time to sufficiently develop. That sucks and I now do not trust anything I see in Rover. These tactics are not by chance, they are by design to control the positivity of results for their money earners. They are a huge contributing factor to creating contrite and useless feedback where it otherwise would be essential feedback for new users of services in this app. Trying reach anyone but a 10 cent BoT at Rover is beyond painful, hence my view on this forum. -- canadianinmaui, 2024-10-15 ### *---- "Rover sucks" Everyone that says they are available are not available I can’t find anyone to walk my dog. It is extremely annoying when you repeatedly get booking requests that fall outside of your availability. Why allow sitters to set their availability if it is ignored? I frequently get requests for early morning drop-in visits when I have this marked as unavailable in my settings. It would save sitters and owners time and frustration if clients were not able to request times that Rover knows the sitter is unavailable. -- Lexandraa, 2024-10-07 ### *---- "Be careful with credit card info" I did not realize that Rover charges $50 to do a background check, which they charged my card before I had even sent my consent form in. This was not yet in my budget for this pay period so when I called to ask for a refund and cancel, I was denied. I’m sure it said in the fine print that there was a $50 charge so it’s my fault for not seeing that, but it definitely should have been more clear because it never presented a cost or price other than in the fine print. I was pretty surprised that since I have not used the service or even submitted my consent form yet that they would not cancel & issue a refund. Private photos that sitters send to owners in a DM cannot be deleted and automatically show in the pets profile. The default behaviour of the app is to publicly share all pictures which were sent privately between two parties. The only workaround is to individually hide each picture. Yea my phone has all the updates -- bobblits, 2024-09-04 ### ****- "App needs some improvements" As a pet sitter, dog walker and doggy daycare for 10 years with Rover it has been really good 99% of the time with the clients and animals. The app I find is good but needs some improvements and things to add to it. First I wish there was somewhere to make notes about the clients after meet and greets so I could put things in like: Can dog go to dog parks? Medication times etc. I also think the calendar needs a revamp and make it more like the Google calendar where you can see bookings and put things in different colours. I checklist reminder for the client to leave appropriate info for us sitters. I’d like to also have the calendar give us more options for allowing clients to book us at certain times ex. I’d like to be able to have say the summer days or even weekends open to a wider area as it’s easier to travel then. Another thing which would be nice is to have an area for emergency contact info for the clients to put in. The last thing is the fees. Around 20% you guys take from us. I know everyone needs to get paid at rover and things cost but that seems a bit steep and makes family, friends and referrals want to do it private which I’d rather not do. You would make more money as more people would book it for the coverage and support. Maybe around 10-15% would be appropriate.
