Rummy is known as Indian Rummy 13 Card Game.
Rummy is a card game that is played with two decks of cards with total of two Jokers.
Rummy is played with 2, 3 or 5 players and each player is deal 13 cards, two 52-card decks (104 cards) and 4 Jokers are used.
To win the rummy game a player must make a valid declaration by picking and discarding cards from the two piles given. One pile is a closed deck, where a player is unable to see the card that he is picking, while the other is an open deck that is formed by the cards discarded by the players.
In rummy, the cards in each suit rank low to high starting with Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen and King. Ace, Jack, Queen and King each has 10 points.
The maximum points that a player can get is 80 points. If the player’s hand score is 85, then they will still only be dealt with an 80-point penalty.
Point Rummy
- Rummy card game remains the same and only the point value calculation changes slightly in indian rummy card game.
Deal Rummy
- The difference is seen only in the pre-decided game coins & game rounds in indian rummy card game.
101 Pool Rummy & 201 Pool Rummy
- The winner is decided when one of the players declares a valid set (pure sequence + impure sequence). Once the declaration is valid, then the points of all the other players are calculated. In the case of 101 Points Rummy, then the player who reaches 101 points first is eliminated in rummy card game.
RUMMY TABLE GAME FEATURES
Drop
A drop is used by a player when they feel less confident of winnings and intent to minimize the point penalty.
There are mainly 5 types of sequence in rummy which are:
- Pure Sequence
- Impure Sequence
- Triples
- First Life
- Second Life
Pure Sequence
A pure sequence is a group of three or more cards of the same suit, placed in consecutive order. To form a pure sequence in indian rummy, a player cannot use any Joker or wild card.
Impure Sequence
An impure sequence is a group of three or more cards of the same suit with one or more Joker card used.
Sets
A set is a group of three or more cards of the same value but of different suits. When you are forming sets, you can use wild card and Jokers.
