A plain text editor with syntax highlighting, line numbers, search and replace, page guide, and much more. It's like TextEdit but more powerful and optimised for iPhone and iPad.
Runestone is made by a single person with a love for text editors and a vision of building the most lightweight text editor for iPhone and iPad that still has the core features for editing code.

- Syntax highlighting of many languages including HTML, JavaScript, JSON, Markdown, Swift, Python, PHP, YAML, and many more.
- Select one of the twelve standard themes including popular themes like Tomorrow, Dracula, Solarized, and One Dark Pro.

Very nice text editor
I’m tempted to buy premium but can we please have ruby formatting, that would be great!
Quality App
Awesome app, developed knows his stuff and then some - love it!
Great editor
One thing, can you make the formatter for JavaScript customizable? So it doesn’t split lines, I like to keep functions all on 1 line.
So far, very good.
I’ve only just installed this by so far is seems really good. It’s a proper text editor with word wrap and encodings and line endings, with easy ability to change font size, it also syncs to iCloud out of the box. Also in the free edition, no endless annoying ads, so far brilliant.
Can’t Copy/Paste! Want a refund, but can’t get one
The first thing I was offered after purchase was a refund, but I didn’t select that, because I hadn’t tried it yet. Then the very first thing I tried to do (Copy/Paste from another text file) proved impossible! NOW I want a refund, but of course now that option is no longer available. Scam.
My Review
My 3* review could be increased, if the developer could please explain how when both saving or searching for files. The user can navigate folders etc similar to the Files application? By default this App saves to Apples iCloud which could possibly be an Apple restriction. For my phone I have configured multiple connections G drive, Dropbox etc also to my NAS. If this app could navigate already active connections to view and edit files I’d be happy to 5*
Finally a decent code / text editing app
This is a wonderful, well-designed, and elegantly simple app. I take most of my notes in markdown and store then in iCloud and often want to view / edit them on the go. The editor is a pleasure to use, has basic code editing features, syntax highlighting, dark mode support, basic auto completion (e.g. automatically adding closing delimiters to the right of the cursor). Have tried other text editing apps but they are clunky and a pain to use. I very rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so since I see this has relatively few downloads and is such obviously high quality. I have no doubt it will be a success. Thanks for the great app!
