I am incredibly disappointed with the Ruter app. It’s riddled with bugs that make it unreliable and frustrating to use. For example, I purchased a monthly ticket, and later bought a single-trip ticket for another person. When the single-trip ticket expired, my valid monthly ticket inexplicably disappeared too! This is unacceptable for an app that handles something as essential as public transport access.
Another major issue is the payment system. More than once, I’ve tried to buy a ticket, received an error message, and tried again—only to end up being charged twice for the same ticket. This is not only inconvenient but feels like a blatant disregard for the user's time and money.
Adding insult to injury, ticket prices are constantly increasing while the quality of public transport services continues to decline. Ruter needs to prioritize fixing the app’s functionality and justifying these price hikes with better services, not worse.
This app is more of a source of stress than a useful tool for navigating Oslo’s public transport system.
