The service works well enough, and is cheaper than an international plan. I’m able to talk to my family, and access the internet. The connection is somewhat slow, and I drop calls from time to time (even in a static environment). Video calling is nothing short of frustrating, but that could just be my location. I’d recommend it for military personnel on short tours, and persons who infrequently travel internationally. The app is great as far as usability, however, my only complaint is I wish they would add an option to send you push notifications when the data is low.
So I just got this internet Puck for my time at Ali Al Salem yesterday. WiFi is pretty good now and I’m enjoying it. But let’s say I want to change plans or even cancel it, the site doesn’t show my profile nor give me an option to cancel it not even the app shows me where to cancel my plan or start a new one. So idk if I have to go back to the store and make a new plan or cancel it. But weird cuz the guy said I can do it from my phone and I don’t know where. So I felt like I got scammed into a plan that I have to stick with
The pucks by sapphire drains battery even if you’re not using data. That means if it accidentally press against something in your bag it will turn on and stay on until it dies without you even using your data. Oh, the data is expensive and it expires
The service is garbage for Poland. Don’t waste your money.
This app leaves a lot to be desired. Can’t set up payment unless you use PayPal, which I do not use. Cannot change password and it wants you to enter your ID. Why? It doesn’t support OTP. Really sorry I bought the device. The app is terrible.
They don’t have an unlimited plan, if you don’t use all the data you already paid for within the set time frame you loose it. It’s basically a money grab because they know they have a guaranteed customer base, especially within the military community when our options for internet are slim. If I had other options I would take my money elsewhere.
The app itself isn’t the issue, the issue is that for ME no matter what I do from 10am - 3 pm it’s total black out on wifi for me and from 10pm - 3am.. it’s the same. Anyone and everyone else I ask says they have no issues at all with their wifi or sapphire at all. If I had literally no other choice but to use this trash I would 100000% get the hundreds of dollars I’ve spent on this overpriced trash. -10/10 puck is not worth its weight in the plastic it’s made of 6/10 app for screwing up whenever I try to pay with PayPal Overall if you have already purchased a sapphire puck get your money back. It’s not worth the headache in my honest opinion. But who knows, you might have a much better experience than myself.
I bought this because it was the only thing available in the area. I needed service and I needed connection. The desire for either aside I had a genuine need. Being unable to pay important bills while on travel and checking on family with medical needs is a terrifying thing, so I paid what most would think too expensive and bought the device and a plan. Spending almost 200 dollars I figured, you get what you pay for. I have heard the excuses and to some it may make sense, when so many people are the same area using the same type of device or the same satellite it will be “slow”. When I have to watch as my phone continues to say no service, and my family believes that I have just stopped talking to them, or when companies believe I am avoiding them and my obligations, then I have to say: “What am I paying for?” Because it’s not service and why tell someone you can give them what you can’t if there’s a limit to how many people per region that can have service at a time. Stop selling the device or your “service” if you aren’t going to serve.
Far too expensive and internet speeds are just too slow. Speeds were barely ok across the US and Europe. It was totally unusable in Afghanistan and Kuwait. Between background apps and constantly refreshing unloaded pages, your data gets used up quickly. Better off with something else with better plans and connectivity.
