Good app. Nicely designed. Sometimes the cartoon pages are hard to bring up in focus.
We really appreciate the ease of flipping through pages and keeping in touch with news back home from wherever we are in the world…today Athens, Greece.
Great app
Good, because I can see the paper in the same layout as the actual paper.. bad, because, as one reviewer says above, it’s jumpy. It will lose your scroll position if you even just rotate the phone, which is especially maddening when you have to scrolling past a page break (which is also harder than it needs to be). Apart from these couple of things, I really like the app. So great to be able to fit the whole paper in my pocket :) and the ability to view back issues is nice as well. Just for the record I believe using the app requires a digital subscription to the paper (though I don’t remember getting prompted for my login credentials). 2018-09-18: Woohoo, looks like the page break issue mentioned above is fixed! Kudos. However, still having some navigation woes because it’s too easy to swipe sideways to a different story, when only attempting to scroll down in my current story. So still some work to do in the app. 2023-01-30: Haven’t run into the swipe-sideways-to-different-story issue in a while! Fairly pleased. Just wish the website would remember my preference to open stories that have been emailed in the app. Not sure if that’s the app’s fault or not, but not sure it really matters to me — it’s an extra tap for me every time I go to use the app. So, once that is fixed up it’ll be perfect.
Local coverage from a liberal point of view and canned national news from the mainstream liberals - all a day later than available elsewhere. Seriously, why bother reporting yesterday’s sports scores as “late”? Do you really think readers have an interest in what happened in the stock market 2 days ago? Just stick with local news and at least give the appearance of objective coverage.
At least once a month there is a problem getting the paper published digitally so you open the application and just get a spinning wheel which is very annoying.
Easy to use - doesn’t leave any ink on your fingers - you can read it anywhere from here to Hong Kong. Go Herald-Tribune!
Two day old news. Customer support is in a foreign country. Speaks unintelligible English. Recent changes now produce an inferior paper.
Easy to save articles or to send articles via email.
