Because they cannot communicate freely with the hearing world, they are often regarded as incompetent or not intelligent, and not fit to be employed. This is far from the truth! DEAFinition is a non-profit company providing a range of services and funding opportunities to promote equal access for the Deaf community. The DEAFinition SASL App offers reference videos and material for the official sign language used by Deaf people in South Africa. However, the search option never works smoothly. Often it’ll take a few tries to get the app to work and everytime I use the app in between searches I’ll have to leave the app, clear it and reenter.
