La aplicación móvil de Save The Waves recopila datos a través de los usuarios de las zonas costeras, quienes identifican amenazas como desarrollo ilegal, contaminación plástica y mala calidad de agua. Con el uso de los teléfonos inteligentes, los usuarios toman una foto del sitio afectado que es georeferenciado por el GPS del teléfono. Estos datos se comparten con organizaciones ejecutoras y administradores de Áreas Protegidas de nuestra coalición. Con nuestra comunidad global podemos identificar y reducir las amenazas a las costas alrededor del mundo, empoderando a las comunidades locales para que sean custodios de los ecosistemas de surf.
