FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are op shops?
Op shops (short for “opportunity shops”) are second-hand stores run by charities and not-for-profit organisations, where you can find clothing, furniture, and household items at affordable prices.
How do I find op shops near me?
Savi makes it easy to find op shops, tip shops and secondhand stores near you using an interactive map that shows nearby shops, sales, and key details all in one place.
Are op shops cheaper than buying new?
Often yes, especially for high-quality or unique items. Prices can vary, but op shops are still a great way to save money while shopping more sustainably.
When is the best time to go op shopping?
Early in the week, mornings, and sale days are often the best times. Visiting your local shops regularly helps you learn their rhythms and find the best items.
How can I find op shop sales?
Many sales are hard to find as they’re shared on social media or in-store only. Savi helps by showing nearby sales and notifying you when a shop near you is having a sale.
Is thrifting better for the environment?
Yes — buying second-hand reduces waste, lowers demand for fast fashion, and supports a more sustainable circular economy.

Really nice user interface, love the Treasure Chest. I use this app to plan my route for a day’s op shopping and find areas where there are 3 or 4 op shops close together.
