It looks like a beautiful app. Excited to try it since Navionics is so buggy. However, it doesn’t have depths for a LOTTT of places, which is the main reason I want the app. Really only seems to have depths for coastal areas so far. I think the interface is very nice, but for me it was unhelpful at this point in the game. I’ll try again in a year or so. Hopefully yall are updated a little more by then.
Didn’t see in the description anything that indicated a trial period and then pay for continued use. Deleted app immediately.
Just used the app from Freeport Long Island to St. Clair Michigan delivering a yacht and it was spot on the entire trip!

“Waiting for Godot” would be a more appropriate name for this non-functional app. Unlimited tonnage Master here with 24 years experience. Was hoping to find an app for casual pre planning of routes. Despite my best efforts I am unable to get this waste of time to calculate anything but the most basic, open water routes. Anything near land leaves the user waiting and waiting. Not sure if it’s capable of a solution but do know that in the time I waited I could have manually plotted my own route. Instructions suggest adjusting boat parameters however besides water depth an air draft it seems that once you’ve chosen a boat length there is no apparent way to change it. If your time is at all valuable to yourself and are looking for an app that is functional avoid at all costs. Garbage.
I like the layout of the app and I would certainly become a subscriber. It needs to have Storm Thurmond lake information added and I would like to see a cheaper membership alternative. Paying $100yr for all the charts ill never use because i just want to sail my local lakes seems excessive.
You have to create a profile and link it to an email and password before they tell you that you will be charged once your trial period ends.
Great app for a back up chart navigation. Very easy to use. Love that it has both a desktop and Mobil versions that are compatible with each other. Would give it 5 stars if the routes could be downloaded to my Simrad on my boat. Also would like to see longer weather and wave hight projections for trip planning.
The app offers charts, with the disclaimer standard to all nav apps, that it is only to be used as a secondary nav aid, not as a substitute for government issued charts. Fine, no app wants liability for crashing your boat. However other reputable apps tell you which charts they are using, and that tells you very important stuff like whether low tide is ALT or MLLW, etc. This is essential information if you do not want to crash your boat. Savvy does not tell you the source of the chart, and does not tell you the chart datum. At least that I could find from the chart or any of the buttons on it. The info it does offer is a laundry list of sources from “Mapbox,” whatever that is. The app may offer all sorts of cool sounding functions, but if the charts are dubious none of the other stuff counts. To me.
Great app. I had been using another navigation app when I discovered Savvy Navy. It is considerably easier to use. Happy with my one year subscription.
