Scientific American Reviews

Useable app to read Scientific American on an iPhone

Chris36453567 on

Austria

Browsing the archive, navigating through an issue and reading an article works great. I would appreciate the following improvements, though: 1) When swiping left or right between articles the last reading position should be assumed in each article. Currently the display jumps back to the beginning of the article. 2) It should be possible to zoom a bit deeper into images. 3) My subscription should be remembered between issues. For each new issue I have to log out and sign in again to be able to download it free of charge.

No longer that good...

The earlier version was far better. The new one is ok, but nearly everytime I use it there is a little or bigger problem.

Free app! Lots of great articles! Not a lot of things you can’t do without a subscription.

Not good

rafiki4488 on

App suffers from 2009 level performance issues. Words go off the page and scrolling is stilted. There’s no excuse for this.

Your editor is a disgrace to the journalism and science. The SCI AMER is not the one I grew up with. Shut this journal down.

My online digital subscription has never worked. I received the magazine, but I’ve never been able to login.

I have yet to read an article in Scientific American that was not worth reading. Always insightful, sometimes amusing, I always look forward to the next issue. Thank you all for inspiring me and opening up the world of science to most of us who are not scientists!

I often switch to New Scientist simply because I like to read science articles at bedtime and the current app burns my eyes!
