Scrivener keeps my writing well organized. Couldn’t recommend enough
It’s more like 3.5 stars but there’s no option for that. I have no problem with the syncing or any app glitches, but there’s a few key features this app could use. I don’t mind the app being purely mobile but it could definitely benefit from an “add to dictionary” feature for characters names and special locations. There could be a spot in the settings for all saved words for editing/removing later. It would improve my writing experience immensely. I would also appreciate a feature to copy pages/folders/binders from one Project to another. I have a page in a Binder that I would love to copy to another project without having to copy/paste the words. Not a big deal but it would be cool! I would also appreciate color options for the UI. But again that’s not very important, I just love green.
The syncing feature is beyond archaic. The fact that you need Dropbox is dumb. Don’t charge all this money for a half baked app.
Need To Revise Excessive Use Of Constant Prompts Of Don’t Allow Or Allow Cut And Paste Ever Time One Is Only Editing Document. And Need Way To Import To MacBook Air/Pro Laptops. Other than this it’s near perfect!!!! Thanks!!! Job well done!!!
Dropbox but no iCloud support is really strange. “Update from iTunes” isnt obvious as to what that does. On my Scrivener desktop my backup folder is hosted on my iCloud Drive so I was hoping to browse to the directory and select the latest version. This wouldnt be the ideal solution anyway, both the desktop and mobile apps should be using iCloud sync. Its very disappointing that in 2024/2025 is not implemented.
It's been like 10+ years. Why can you still only save the iOS app to Dropbox? Literally, who even uses that? Also, when are you guys going to implement saving as you go? I don't even use the app because only having it save on exit is so risky. Why even still have this?? Update this app to 2024!!!!
I was influenced into purchasing this and I regret it. The iOS app just isn't good. There are so many free tools out there that are more user-friendly, more aesthetically ideal, and better for organizing a manuscript. I don't recommend it.
I love this app. Dropbox sync works great as long as in Windows I save my projects where the iOS app expects them. Great to be able to work on my novel wherever and whenever instead of wasting time on social media or games. And Scrivener is way better for book writing than Google docs. I can focus on the words instead of formatting. I can organize my scenes, chapters, research and world building. And I can use great templates created by other writers.
I loved this app but don't like having to use drop box. I want to keep all my work in iCloud and stop having to pay more than one cloud service. I can’t even store a short story to the cloud with this app.
I am truly enjoying typing in Scrivener. The organizational power for stories is almost unmatched, though I find it hard to believe that there is no “Distraction free” mode. I am used to writing in Ulysses which I enjoyed just a bit more with their better syncing and better low distraction. The main draw to this app instead has been that it is available on windows as well as my Mac. Also no subscription of course.
