Description

Accessible Reading for Visual Media
Vizling makes comics, maps, and other visual texts more accessible for blind, low-vision, and sighted users. Grounded in narrative theory, Vizling helps readers understand how meaning is built across an entire page (global structure), from panel to panel (narrative flow), and within each image (item composition).
With audio modes for both big-picture layout and close-up detail, Vizling supports meaningful engagement with multimodal media—whether for enjoyment, education, or research.
The Vizling app was developed at Wichita State University with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Vizling was one of the winners of the Accessible Comics Design Competition, sponsored by The Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability in collaboration with Comic Studies and the Program in Visual Impairments at San Francisco State University.

Great app

Subscription failure

Bhd001 on

South Africa

Up until now have always used a Suuto dive computer. Having an Apple Watch ultra I made the change and downloaded your app. Bought a day subscription and used on two dives. It was awesome. As I was only going to dive again the following day, I tried to download another day subscription, not possible until the 24hrs are up. Time was up when time was up, downloaded the subscription which was charged for but did not come through. Alternative plans were made to continue the dive. During the surface time before the following dive I again upgraded to a day subscription and was charged again. The scuba option was noted on the watch, however on entering the water the start scuba token came on and the water “lock” was initiated and that’s how far it went, irrespective of what I did. Huge disappointment and again alternative arrangements were made to continue the dive. So disappointed at experience this failure

Simply love it

I’ve been using my Apple Ultra and the Oceanic + app for some time now and absolutely love it. All that is missing is an average depth value. I’ll never go back to a conventional dive computer.

Keeps crashing

Keeps crashing on the Apple Watch ultra and refuses to sync as per instructions

Can’t log in

I accept log into my app. It just spins. As a result I have middles 2 dives and had to get another dive computer. Is there no other app that syncs with an apple dive watch?

Operates well, but not communicating well with other devices

Watch worked well with my first 2 dives, but will not sync with my phone to create logbook entries- very frustrating! No use paying for an app that doesn’t work properly

iOS 16.4.1

s9c.doDgyBoy on

South Africa

Since the iOS 16.4.1 update the iPhone App does not allow any location planning nor any dive planning and once you have selected any of these options the app crashes. This is really annoying as it did work before the latest update. Also, with the service being a subscription it would be great to have full application and device functionality. This must be resolved before any new iOS is on the horizon.

Great app, needs SSI integration

Mmmmmike_ on

The features are very similar to what you would get out of a Teric or similar, with the bonus of having the ultra bright screen of the Apple watch. There isn't a way to import dives from the watch into the SSI app, which would be much easier than manually coping over values. This should be a standard feature imo.

App very buggy!

tay_zee on

South Africa

I paid a years subscription upfront and your app i am upset to find so many bugs in your app. Hopefully the dive computer metrics aren’t as buggy. Bug 1: no deco planner on the phone: when you swap from air to nitrox the view expands bigger than the width of the screen Bug 2: I keep changing the metrics on the watch from imperial to metric and after a while it keep changing back to imperial on its own
