SDR-Control for Icom Reviews

Excellent, needs one addition!

An excellent piece of software. Easy to use and very well designed. Lots of YouTube videos to assist with this application. Needs one more thing to make it a premium experience; JS8CALL really does need to be added! Please, please do try to get this done!

I bought this to help out a friend setting it up remotely. So glad I did. Once connected everything just worked. FT8 from an iPad without wires, Logbook, DX-Cluster and an excellent manual to name but a few of its capabilities. Sometimes the IC-705 doesn’t appear to turn on WiFi even though its displays it has but a toggle on/off fixes it. CW Decoder not as good as FLDIGI but does work however most CW ops use their ears anyway. Yet to try CW via the iPad though. Might have to now buy a Midi adapter and Pryme button just to try them out ! Very nice software Marcus. Thank you.

Great app but expensive…

Got to say once I got to grips with this it works brilliantly hence 5 stars. I’ve only used FT8 so far, if only Marcus offered discount as if you wanted the software for all your iOS devices your looking at spending a lot of money… Mac version alone is now £100, so if you wanted all versions for your iOS devices your looking at spending around £200 that’s quite a lot of money😀

Very good app - the best remote control for the 705 that I have used. I really hope JS8call and some other modes(RTTY) will be included. Also, I think that 36 for the phone version on top of 49 for this is a bit steep. However, if you are undecided, this is a great app worth the money. Please add more digital - JS8Call and RTTY and give us ipad purchasers a discount on the phone version!

Great bit of software.

I tried to enquire if the product was available on a “try before buy” basis but was told quite rudely…this was not possible. I asked as I am a R8600 user so I wanted to be sure the features I was looking for were included. I checked the manual but did not find the answer there. So I wrote to Marcus requesting the information. Unfortunately I did not get the answer I was expecting. In fact, I did not receive an answer to my questions at all so I guess we just got off on the wrong foot. Personalities aside, the software works well. I would like to see specific group memory description as in the receiver if possible. Also, the ability to scan one memory group and use a CSV file from the cloud would be the icing on the cake. Thanks Marcus. Great job.

Icom IC-R8600 (experimental) works perfectly

Absolutely brilliant… I have been using the free open source WFVIEW software to access the radio from my Mac, but find this iPad App to be a more elegant and superior highly mobile / portable platform. Love the layout, functionality and awesome swipe tuning capability this app provides on the iPad. Tempted to look at the developer’s Mac offering, but understand the price reflects comprehensive transceiver operability, so wish a receive only light version was available for IC-R8600 users. Perhaps the IC-R8600 could be added to the list of supported products as it took a little research on the developer’s website to discover it was supported. Thank you Marcus Roskosch (developer) - you are a legend!

Brilliant!

I was a very early adopter of this app and sure enough at the beginning there were a few bugs which have been ironed out by the developer. There are constant updates and the app does exactly as asked. I run remotely as well as locally and not no issues as long as there’s a good connection to home. The Mac OSX app is also well worth considering for familiarity and more function. Great job! Don’t hesitate, especially for the 705!

Outstanding!

This is the app I wanted to write but never found the time. I bought the version for my MacBook Air a few weeks ago and that’s great, but this is even better for portable operation. Installed on my iPad Mini, it loaded the settings saved to iCloud from my MacBook and connected to my IC705 with no problem at all. Voice and FT8 work perfectly. I would give it 10 stars but it only allows 5 :-) I hate the term ‘game changer’ but this is… 73 Mark M0IAX

Wow so many features icom take note !

This is superb, integrated ft8, logging, psk reporter, band plans and you can operate easily and smoothly from your iPad! This is the new benchmark, it’s so feature rich and slick. I love it!
